We knew the new McLaren 720S was fast, but exactly how fast was a mystery until Top Gear recently took the latest British hypercar for a spin in Italy. Of course, when the pushed the car to its limits, they got a full set of absolutely jaw-dropping acceleration figures.

- 0-20mph:Â 0.96s
- 0-30mph:Â 1.40s
- 0-40mph:Â 1.82s
- 0-50mph:Â 2.30s
- 0-60mph:Â 2.77s
- 0-70mph:Â 3.33s
- 0-80mph:Â 3.93s
- 0-90mph:Â 4.59s
- 0-100mph:Â 5.31s
- 0-110mph:Â 6.14s
- 0-120mph:Â 7.06s
- 0-130mph:Â 8.16s
- 0-140mph:Â 9.38s
- 0-150mph:Â 11.01s
Taking only 10.19 seconds to complete a quarter-mile stretch, McLaren has proven once again that they know how to make some of the most amazing hypercars on the planet. The fantastic launch control system found in other McLaren vehicles has also been implemented in the 720S, helping make it capable of hitting 60mph from a stationary position in just 2.77s – something the Volkswagen Golf GTI performs in 6.2s.
