OMP KS Short Sleeve Top: Now Available In New Colours For 2025
Kartwear news, November 2025
The OMP KS short sleeve top now comes in four colours. Alongside the original black there are three new options for 2025: white, blue and orange, so it is easier to match your base layer to your kart suit or team colours.
Nothing else has changed. It is still OMP's karting base layer in 3D Dryarn, a light fabric that moves sweat away from your skin, worn under a kart suit to keep you cooler and drier over a race day. It is not fireproof, and it is made for karting.
- New colours for 2025: white, blue and orange, alongside black
- Made from 3D Dryarn for moisture control
- A karting base layer, not fireproof and not FIA approved
- Three sizes: XS-S, M-L and XL-XXL
- Part of OMP's KS range with a long sleeve top, shorts and balaclava

Four colours to choose from
The KS top was black only. For 2025 OMP have added white, blue and orange, so there are now four colours to choose from.
It is a small change, but it makes a difference if you like your kit to match. A base layer shows at the collar and cuffs of a kart suit, and teams often like everyone in the same colour.

What the KS top does
A kart suit is a heavy layer with little ventilation, and karting is hard physical work. Without a base layer, the suit sits damp against your skin all day and rubs wherever it moves.
The KS top is made from 3D Dryarn, a very light polypropylene-based fibre that moves moisture away rather than holding it. It fits close, stretches with you and feels soft against the skin, so it sits under the suit without adding bulk. Short sleeves suit warm days in a kart, when you want as little as possible under the suit.
Garreth’s advice is to buy more than one. Karting is a sweaty business, and a dry top for the last heat is worth having.
For karting, not car racing
The KS top is a comfort and moisture layer, not fire-rated racewear, and it has no FIA approval. It will not meet racewear rules for car competition. If you race a car, you need underwear approved to FIA 8856-2018 under your race suit. Our guide to FIA fireproof underwear covers that side.
The rest of the KS range
The short sleeve top is one part of OMP’s KS karting underwear, all in the same Dryarn fabric. There is a long sleeve top for cooler days and to stop a kart suit chafing bare arms, KS shorts for underneath, and a KS balaclava to keep your helmet lining clean. None of the KS range is fire-rated.
The top comes in three sizes, XS-S, M-L and XL-XXL. It should fit close, because a loose base layer does not wick sweat away properly.
