Racewear set guides
Buying a race suit, a pair of boots and a pair of gloves as three separate purchases is how most people end up with a set that does not match. These guides exist to stop that. Each one covers a full set we stock, shows every colourway on a driver, and lays out exactly which boots and gloves go with which suit.
All four sets carry the current FIA 8856-2018 standard, so choosing between them is about fit, colour and budget rather than what a scrutineer will accept. If you are buying your first set, start with the OMP First. If you want the most choice on colour, the Sparco Sprint Advanced. If you are doing a full season, the Alpinestars Atom, and if you want the boots and gloves a step above that, the GP Race V3.
The sets we stock
OMPFirstFirst-S suit, First boots, First glovesThe cheapest way into a fully approved set, and the widest colour choice on the boots and gloves of anything we stock.
SparcoSprint AdvancedSprint Advanced suit, Slalom boots, Land glovesSeven suit colourways, more than anything else at the money, with plain solid boots and gloves so you pick the accent and run it through.
AlpinestarsAtomAtom suit, SP+ boots, Tech 1 Race V4 glovesWhere the money stops going on the certificate and starts going on the fit. Floating arms, pre-curved limbs and flat shoulder seams for a HANS device.
AlpinestarsGP Race V3GP Race V3 suit, Tech 1-Z V3 boots, Tech 1-ZX V4 glovesThe tier above the Atom. Almost all of the extra is in the boots and the gloves rather than the suit, which is worth knowing before you spend.Colour counts are the live variation counts on each product. All four sets carry FIA 8856-2018.
Everything in these guides is in the showroom to try on, which is worth doing before you commit on a suit size. More set guides are on the way as we build them out across the range.
