The Complete BC Racing Coilover Guide for Mini
The BC Racing listings for the R53 Cooper (2002 to 2006) and the R55/R56 Cooper (2007 to 2013) each carry a note that is unusual across the BC Racing catalogue: spacer might be needed. BC Racing have put it in the product title. On the F-series (2014 onwards), the equivalent check is DDC status, which splits the Cooper range into two separate kits.
Fourteen fitments across the Mini range, all on BR. Five carry RM, and the two R-series Cooper generations add ER and ZX on top. The newer F66, F67 and U25 platforms are BR only.
Which BC series fits your Mini
BR covers every Mini fitment in the range. RM is available on both R-series Cooper generations, the R60 Countryman (2010 to 2016), the F54 Clubman (2014 to 2023) and the F60 Countryman (2017 to 2023). ER and ZX appear only on the R53 (2002 to 2006) and the R55/R56 (2007 to 2013) Coopers. The F66, F67 and U25 platforms are BR only.

ER and ZX are available only on the R53 and R55/R56 Cooper generations. RM also covers the R60 Countryman, the F54 Clubman and the F60 Countryman.

What to check before you order
Sort these points before going to a part number on a Mini order.
DDC on the F-series Cooper. F-series Coopers (F55 five-door and F56 three-door, 2014 to 2023) come in two BC Racing versions: one for cars with Dynamic Damper Control fitted from the factory, one for cars without it. DDC is an electronically controlled damping system. The two kits use different lower mount configurations, so fitting the wrong one means the mount does not locate correctly. On a DDC car you will usually see a wiring connector at the top of each damper unit. The F55 five-door also has its own dedicated listing alongside the combined F56/F55 entry. The spacer warning on the R-series. The R53 (2002 to 2006) and the R55/R56 (2007 to 2013) each carry a note in the title that a spacer might be needed when fitting the BR or ER kit. It is worded as a might rather than a definite requirement, so fitment without a spacer is possible, but it is worth confirming strut clearance before ordering. The RM and ZX listings on those same cars do not carry the warning.
The 50mm front strut on the F54 Clubman and F60 Countryman. The F54 Clubman (2014 to 2023) and F60 Countryman (2017 to 2023) both flag a 50mm front strut diameter in the BC Racing title. Both are available in BR and RM. Other Clubman and Countryman listings do not carry that note. If you are on either of those platforms, confirm the front strut diameter matches the 50mm note before ordering.
BC Racing coilovers for the Mini Cooper F-series
Six BC Racing kits for the F-series Cooper. The 2014 to 2023 generation splits on two things: DDC status and body style. The F56 three-door and F55 five-door each appear in both DDC and No DDC versions, though BC Racing also lists an F55-only entry alongside the combined F56/F55 entry for the same years. Confirm DDC status and body variant before selecting. The 2024-onwards Cooper on the F66 and the Cooper Cabrio on the F67 are each a single BR listing with no DDC note.

Six listings across the Clubman and Countryman. The R55 Clubman (2007 to 2014) is BR only. The R60 Countryman (2010 to 2016) carries BR and RM. The F54 Clubman (2014 to 2023) and F60 Countryman (2017 to 2023) both flag a 50mm front strut diameter and come in BR and RM. The current-gen U25 Countryman and Countryman SE are AWD and BR only.
BC Racing coilovers for the Mini Cooper R-series
The two oldest Cooper fitments: the R53 (2002 to 2006) and the R55/R56 (2007 to 2013). Both carry four BC series: BR, ER, RM and ZX. Both also carry BC Racing’s spacer-might-be-needed note for the BR and ER kits. The note does not apply to the RM or ZX listings on those same cars.
Final thoughts
Fourteen Mini fitments, all on BR. The spacer note on the R53 and R55/R56 Coopers is the one thing worth reading before you get to the series or price. On the F-series, DDC status is the check. Those two points account for most of the questions we get on Mini coilover orders.
