The second of our helmet and HANS packages is built around Sparco's Air Pro RF-5W, a full face helmet that arrives with its HANS posts already fitted. Paired with a Stand21 Club Series 3, it is ready to wear the day it arrives.
As with every package, we put the two together on the showroom mannequin first, and the photos here are the actual pair.

The RF-5W is an easy helmet to pair, because Sparco fit the HANS posts before it leaves the factory. Clip the tethers on and it is done.
The Sparco Air Pro RF-5W
The RF-5W is a fibreglass shell reinforced with carbon and Kevlar, approved to FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2015. The visor adjusts for a clear view, and inside the EPS liner is shaped to move air through the helmet, which you will notice on a warm day in a closed car.
Two practical touches we like: the flame retardant lining comes out for washing, and there is space inside for a drinks system if your races are long enough to need one.
The side view shows the factory fitted post, with the Club Series 3 tether clipped straight on. No drilling, no torque settings, no wondering whether the post is in the right place.
Garreth rates that as a real saving for a first set. Posts fitted afterwards need doing properly, and here Sparco have already done it.
The Stand21 Club Series 3 HANS
The other half of the package is the Stand21 Club Series 3, approved to FIA 8858-2010. It is set at 20 degrees, the angle for an upright seat in a saloon, GT or rally car, and it is injection moulded from a composite, which keeps it to around 750 g with its pads and tethers.
On the RF-5W it clips to the factory posts, so the pair is ready as soon as you have adjusted the tethers to your seat.
