New OMP J-R Open Face Helmets Arrive For 2022

A new batch of OMP J-R open face helmets has arrived in store this week, in sizes S to XL, ready for dispatch or collection from our showroom. More sizes are available to order on the website.
The J-R has joined the display next to the Bell Mag and the Sparco Air Pro RJ-3. Between them, these are the most affordable FIA approved open face helmets we recommend, so this post covers all three.

What is on this page
The OMP J-R
The J-R is a modern looking open face helmet, with coloured stripes running down both sides. The shell is a light, high quality composite, and the inner lining is fire retardant and highly breathable.
It comes with a white anti-dazzle peak fitted with a tinted visor strip, and it is homologated to FIA 8859-2015.
The version we have in store has HANS posts fitted at the factory. That means it is ready to use with a HANS device straight away, which gives the driver more support and protection for the head and neck.
The two helmets beside it
The Sparco Air Pro RJ-3 has a light fibreglass shell reinforced with carbon-Kevlar, and a removable black fibreglass peak. The flame retardant lining comes out for cleaning, and there are recesses in the shell for fitting an intercom, which is worth knowing if you rally.
The Bell Mag is Bell’s entry level open face helmet. It has a light fibreglass shell, a modern design, and an adjustable peak with an anti-glare sun screen, which makes it a sensible first helmet for an amateur driver on a budget.
Choosing between them
All three are FIA approved open face helmets at the affordable end of the market, so the choice comes down to fit and the details you need. The J-R arrives with HANS posts, the RJ-3 is set up for an intercom, and the Mag has the adjustable sun screen.
