What has changed
Fireproof race suits are required in most forms of motorsport, and the approval on the label is what the scrutineer checks. Every Alpinestars suit listing now shows its current FIA approval, with new images and fuller information.
The bundle items have been picked to suit each suit, and many are the matching pieces from the same range, so you can add gloves and boots to your basket from the same page.
The new Alpinestars Atom
The Atom is Alpinestars' new entry level race suit for the 2022 season, and it meets FIA 8856-2018, with higher heat and flame protection than the older standard.
It is a two layer suit, with an aramid twill outer shell and an aramid lining. Pre-curved arms and legs and stretch panels let it fit closely and comfortably in the driving position without restricting movement. There are more colours and sizes of the Atom on our online store.

The last of the Stratos
The Alpinestars Stratos has been discontinued, so we only have limited stock left, at a reduced price. It is a two layer FIA approved suit, made from a light, breathable aramid material, with fully floating arms for unrestricted movement.
The Stratos is homologated to FIA 8856-2000, the previous standard. Before buying one, check that your championship still accepts 8856-2000 suits. Our guide to choosing an FIA race suit explains the difference between the two standards.

Try them on in the showroom
The Atom and the Stratos are both on display in the showroom, ready to try on, send out or collect. Book a time before you come in and we will have your sizes out.
Garreth’s advice is to sit down in a suit when you try it on, the way you would in the car, because a suit that feels fine standing up can pull across the shoulders and knees once you are in the seat. For karting, the standards are different, and our kart suit standards guide covers them.
