2022 Alpinestars Race Underwear Now Updated: Race V3 And ZX Evo V2 Sets

We have just been through our Alpinestars racing underwear for 2022. Two sets are new to the site, the Race V3 and the ZX Evo V2, and the existing Alpinestars underwear listings have been brought up to date as well.
We have also bundled the pieces of each set together. Tops, bottoms, balaclavas and socks from the same set can now be added to your basket from one place, so building a full layer under your race suit takes one visit.

What we have changed for 2022
Racing underwear is the layer that sits under your suit, and in most forms of motorsport it is part of the kit you are expected to wear. The job is simple: add another flame resistant layer between the suit and your skin.
The update covers two things. First, the two new Alpinestars sets for 2022 are now on the site. Second, the Alpinestars underwear we already listed has been refreshed, and every item in a set is bundled with the others. If you are looking at the top, the matching bottoms, balaclava and socks are there on the same page.
Race V3 balaclavas in the showroom
We have a small number of Alpinestars Race V3 balaclavas in the showroom. They are one size and can be dispatched straight away or collected.
The Race V3 uses Alpinestars' flame resistant Lenzing FR fibres. It has flat seams and a relaxed fit, a single eye opening, a twin layer of fabric across the face for extra protection, and a hole at the front for a drinks tube.
The two new sets
Alpinestars Race V3. The Race V3 long sleeve top has been designed to meet FIA 8856-2018, the newer and more demanding standard for racing underwear. Alpinestars developed it to improve heat and flame resistance while keeping it comfortable to move in. The set includes the top, bottoms and the balaclava we have on display.
Alpinestars ZX Evo V2. The ZX Evo V2 set gives you more choice of colour. The balaclava and the long sleeve top both come in red, yellow, black and white, so the underwear can match the rest of your kit.

Why the underwear matters
A race suit is only part of the protection. The underwear adds a layer, and it also helps with comfort on a hot day, which is why Alpinestars puts so much work into breathability and flat seams that do not rub under a harness.
