Austin Healey Classic Bucket Seats In-Store

We were very happy to see our customer bring his Austin Healey down to us for a little seating testing on Saturday morning! A beautiful car which deserves some beautiful and practical seats to match. He had already been to see us and selected a few seats which they liked but seating testing makes all the difference so we got to work putting them in the floor well and seeing if they would fit within the space available.

The cockpit of the Austin healey is tight due to the centre tunnel which flares out to enclose the gear box. This means that the bucket seats need to be tight with narrow proportions. We tried the Cobra Classic RS to start with however it was just to wide to sit flush and straight. It would go in but with a slight angle and to close to the steering wheel. After trying a range of seats we decided on the Cobra Cub. Its a smaller classic seat, in fact one of the smallest on the market and it fits the car perfectly sitting against all the interior trims just right.

We felt that it need to be raised off the floor slightly with some of the Cobra sliding runners which are also listed on this part of the website to ensure that there is a little adjustability too. Overall its a great seat and we look forward to providing photos of the seat fitted in place once they are produced for our customer. Photos of this will be coming later this month.
