Bell Motorsport Helmets Updated For 2025: The GT6 And Mag-10 Ranges

Helmet news, May 2025

We have been through our whole Bell motorsport helmet range for the 2025 season. The listings have new descriptions and up to date homologation details, and the new GT6 full face and Mag-10 open face helmets have joined the range.

The headline change is the approval. The new Bell helmets carry FIA 8859-2024, the latest FIA standard for car racing helmets, and most of them are Snell SA2020 approved as well.

  • Our Bell motorsport helmet listings have been updated for 2025
  • New GT6 full face and Mag-10 open face helmets added
  • The new helmets are approved to FIA 8859-2024
  • Most also carry Snell SA2020; the GT6 Sport and Mag-10 Rally Sport are FIA only
  • Bell was the first helmet maker to gain FIA 8859-2024 homologation

What has changed

Every Bell motorsport helmet on the site now has a fuller description and the current homologation details, so it is clear which standard each helmet meets before you order. New for 2025 are the GT6 family of full face helmets and the updated Mag-10 open face helmets.

Bell was the first manufacturer to gain the new FIA 8859-2024 homologation, and the new GT6 and Mag-10 helmets carry it. Our guide to the latest FIA homologation for helmets explains what the new standard means.

The GT6 full face range

The GT6 is Bell's full face helmet for car racing. The family runs from the GT6 Sport through the GT6 Pro to the carbon models, including the GT6 Carbon, the GT6 RD Carbon and the GT6 Rally and GT6 Carbon Rally.

Most GT6 models are approved to both FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2020. The GT6 Sport is approved to FIA 8859-2024 only, so check whether your series also asks for Snell.

The Mag-10 open face range

The Mag-10 is Bell’s open face helmet, built for closed cars such as rally and saloon cars, and popular in historic racing. The 2025 range covers the Mag-10 Pro Composite, the carbon models and several rally versions, including the Mag-10 Rally Sport and Rally Pro.

The Mag-10 Rally Sport is approved to FIA 8859-2024. The other Mag-10 models we list carry both FIA 8859-2024 and Snell SA2020.

Open face or full face?

It is one of the questions we get asked most. A full face helmet such as the GT6 protects the face and chin, and it can be used in open and closed cars. An open face helmet such as the Mag-10 is for closed cars only, where the car itself gives the driver more protection.

Garreth’s advice is to check your championship’s rules first, then choose the style. If you might race an open car or a single seater later, a full face helmet covers both. You can see the open face helmets we list in our open face helmet range.

Yes. The new GT6 and Mag-10 helmets are approved to FIA 8859-2024.

Most do. The GT6 Sport and Mag-10 Rally Sport are approved to FIA 8859-2024 only.

No. Open face helmets such as the Mag-10 are for closed cars only; a full face helmet covers open and closed cars.

It is Bell’s full face car racing helmet, from the GT6 Sport through to the carbon and rally models.
