It is the same company, the same unit and the same two people as the websites, just the stock we cannot list as a full range. Worth a look before you pay full price for something we happen to have one of.
GSM Performance Direct on eBay carries clearance and ex display stock from all three of our websites. Bucket seats, harnesses, helmets, racewear and brake components. Collection from the Nottinghamshire showroom can usually be arranged, and if a listing is unclear, message us before you bid.
What ends up on eBay
Four kinds of thing, and none of it is seconds.
01Ex display
Seats that have been sat in, helmets that have been tried on, kit that has spent a year on the showroom floor. Handled but never used in a car, and photographed as it actually is.
02End of line
Discontinued colours and superseded models. Often identical in specification to the current version, and the only difference is that we cannot get any more of them.
03Odd sizes and singles
The size that got left behind when the rest of the run sold, or one half of a pair. Perfectly good if it happens to be your size, which is the whole gamble.
04Withdrawn brands
When we stop carrying a brand the remaining stock goes to clearance rather than sitting on the website implying we still supply it. Zamp is the current example.
Before you bid
Two things are worth a minute of your time on any clearance safety item.
The first is dating. FIA and Snell approvals run out on their own schedule whether or not anything has ever been worn or bolted in, so a discounted helmet, harness or seat may simply have less life left than a current one. Sometimes that is exactly why the price is what it is. Check the listing, and check what your championship accepts, before rather than after.
The second is fit. Clearance is the one place where sizing matters most and where you have the least room to change your mind, because there is usually only one of whatever it is. If you are near Nottinghamshire, ask whether the item is still on the showroom floor and come and try it.

Is the eBay store really you?▾
Yes. GSM Performance Direct is our own eBay store, run from the same Nottinghamshire unit by the same two people. It is not a reseller or a third party using our name.
Why is it not just cheaper on the website?▾
Different stock. The website carries the current range in full sizes and specifications. eBay is where the odd sizes, discontinued colours, ex display pieces and end of line items go, which is exactly the stock we cannot list properly as a full range.
What condition is ex display kit in?▾
It has been handled and sat in, on a showroom floor rather than in a car. Each listing says what it is and shows photographs of the actual item. If anything is unclear, message us before you bid rather than after.
Can I collect from the showroom instead of paying postage?▾
Ask on the listing. We are at Unit 5 and 6 High Hazles Road, Nottingham NG12 3GZ and collection is usually straightforward to arrange, by appointment.
Is clearance safety kit still in date?▾
Check the listing and check your regulations. FIA and Snell approvals expire on their own schedule regardless of whether an item has ever been used, so a discounted helmet or harness may have less life left in it. That is often why it is discounted. Ask us if the listing does not say.
Do you still sell Zamp?▾
Not on the website. The brand has been withdrawn, and the last few items appear on eBay as clearance. See the Zamp page for what we suggest instead.
