For more than a year and a half, Top Gear fans have been eagerly anticipating the trio’s new motoring show. As of today, Amazon exclusive programme, The Grand Tour, has unleashed the mechanical madness of, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May upon the world once again.
Since the presenters left the BBC last year, Amazon offered them a new show with a budget of £160 million across three series – which is more than crew could have ever dreamed for from the BBC. The Grand Tour’s opening scene has been reported to have cost £2.5 million to produce, which is over five times what it cost to create a single episode of Top Gear.
Season One consists of twelve hour-long episodes set to be released each week and the initial episode has already been swamped with praise from viewers & critics all around the world. Featuring supercars, guns, explosions, intense chases and laugh-out-loud humour, there’s no doubt as to why it is reviewed so highly.
After all of the legal issues surrounding the content of The Grand Tour compared to the BBC’s Top Gear, we imagine that the crew behind the troublesome threesome’s new show will be breathing a collective sigh of relief now that the show has been released.
