Introducing Schuberth: Carbon Fibre Racing Helmets Now Available At GSM Performance
Helmet news, October 2024
We now stock Schuberth racing helmets. Three carbon fibre models have gone on the site this month: the SF3 ABP, the SF4 and the SP1, each with HANS posts fitted.
They sit at the top end of the helmet range, and they are not all approved to the same standard. Two carry FIA 8860-2018 and one carries FIA 8859-2015, so the one to choose depends on what your championship asks for.
- New to our range: Schuberth carbon fibre race helmets
- SF3 ABP Carbon: FIA 8860-2018 ABP and Snell SA2015
- SF4 Carbon: FIA 8860-2018 and Snell SA2020
- SP1 Carbon: FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2020
- All three are HANS compatible with posts fitted
- The SF3 and SF4 come with a helmet bag and a choice of mirrored visor

The SF3 ABP Carbon
The SF3 ABP is the most protective of the three. It is approved to FIA 8860-2018 ABP, the version of the 8860 standard with advanced ballistic protection, as well as Snell SA2015. The shell is autoclave cured carbon fibre, made by hand, with a matt carbon finish.
It comes in two sizes with eight interior lining colours, and in the box is a visor with a mirror finish in your choice of blue, red or silver, a helmet bag, a helmet pouch, a visor sticker, a logo kit and a microfibre cloth.
The SF4 Carbon
The SF4 is approved to FIA 8860-2018 and Snell SA2020. It is also an autoclave carbon shell, this time in a gloss carbon finish, and Schuberth developed it using its wind tunnel, acoustic and load testing work, with aerodynamics and noise reduction in mind.
There are six sizes and three lining colours, and it comes with the same kit as the SF3: a mirrored visor in blue, red or silver, a helmet bag, pouch, sticker, logo kit and cloth.

The SP1 Carbon
The SP1 is approved to FIA 8859-2015 and Snell SA2020, and Schuberth describes it as its first motorsport helmet to carry both. It has a gloss carbon shell, comes in seven sizes, and is supplied with a pouch, visor sticker, logo kit and cloth.
FIA 8859 and 8860 are different levels of FIA helmet approval, and 8860 is the higher one. Garreth’s advice is to check your series regulations before choosing between them. Our guide to FIA helmet standards explains the difference, and our sizing guide shows how to measure.
