Our Nine Best-Selling Products of the Year

Ranked by units sold, 2026

At the end of each quarter Garreth looks at the sales data to see what has actually gone out the door. The nine products on this page are the result: the best sellers by units sold over the last twelve months, pulled from our WooCommerce reports on 12 October 2026. Three items at the top of the raw data have been stripped out before we got here: a free gift box, a children's colouring book, and an RC drift car from the display stand. Every product on this list is kit a customer chose and paid for.

Cameron sees most of the list come across the counter as repeat orders. The drawstring helmet bag at number one sold 175 units this year, which is more than three times the volume of any other product. The OMP First balaclava, boots and race suit sit at numbers five, eight and nine, and they go out together in the same order far more often than they go out alone. The price range on this list runs from £6.00 to £384.00 inc VAT.

  • Nine products ranked by units sold, from live WooCommerce data pulled 12 October 2026.
  • The drawstring helmet bag at £6.00 sold 175 units, more than three times the next product.
  • Three OMP First items at ranks five, eight and nine: balaclava £37.20, boots £141.60, race suit £384.00.
  • Every product except the race suit is under £150 inc VAT.
  • The Sparco MS-4 Mechanics Overalls at £73.20 is the highest-selling workshop wear on the list.

Units sold: WooCommerce reports, year to date, pulled 12 October 2026. Prices inc VAT where applicable, verified on the live site.

Rank 1. Drawstring Helmet Bag, £6.00. The cheapest item on the list and the most-sold. At £6.00 it is the kind of purchase that goes in the basket alongside something else without a second thought. Most customers buy it with a helmet order. Garreth’s view is that its position at number one says more about how many people are getting started than it does about the bag itself: it is the first thing in the kit bag and the last thing anyone budgets for.

Rank 2. Sparco MS-4 Mechanics Overalls, £73.20. The highest-selling item on the list that has nothing to do with being inside a race car. The MS-4 is workshop wear, not race wear, and it sells to track preparation crews, mechanics doing a full season of club racing support, and to drivers who also work on their own car between rounds. At £73.20 it covers a practical day at the trackside without costing what FIA-rated race wear would. Garreth was not expecting it to rank this high, and it shows up here on its own terms.

Rank 3. Sparco X-Pro Helmet, £90.87. Zero-rated for VAT, so £90.87 is the price on the page. Full face, rated for karting and track days, at the entry point of the Sparco helmet range. Twenty-six sold this year puts it level with the OMP Star Helmet at rank four, which tells you something: the full-face versus open-face question at this price has no clear winner, just different preferences.

Rank 4. OMP Star Helmet – Matt Black, £70.21. Open face, also without VAT. About £20 less than the X-Pro above it and the same number of units sold over the year. Cameron sees the open-face question come up most often from track day drivers who wear glasses, and from kart club beginners who are not yet at a level where a chin bar changes anything for them.

Rank 5. OMP First FIA 8856-2018 Balaclava, £37.20. The first of three OMP First items in the nine. FIA 8856-2018 rated, which is the standard required at most club motorsport level in the UK. Twenty-five sold this year, though that probably understates the real figure: balaclavas often go out with a helmet or a suit order without being the headline item in the basket.

Rank 6. OMP KS-4 Kart Suit 2026, £138.00. A CIK-FIA homologated karting suit, not a circuit race suit, so no FIA circuit racing licence number. Cameron’s first question on any kart suit order is the age and build of the driver, because the KS-4 runs to a karting size chart that does not match adult street clothing. A kart suit that is too large is loose at the collar and cuffs, which matters more in a kart than most people expect. Parents ordering for a child are the most likely to size up by default; Cameron will usually ask before the order goes out.

Rank 7. Sparco RW-4 Open Face Balaclava, £38.40. Open face, FIA-rated. The OMP and Sparco balaclavas sit at five and seven on this list, separated by the kart suit, at prices that are about £1.20 apart. They are a similar product at a similar price and there is no wrong choice between them; the decision usually comes down to the brand of the rest of the kit the customer is buying alongside.

Rank 8. OMP First Race Boots, £141.60. FIA 8856-2018 rated, and part of the same entry-level OMP First range as the balaclava at five and the race suit at nine. Cameron measures feet on the counter for boot orders when a customer comes in, because race boots fit differently to street shoes. The OMP size chart runs small and the boots are the single most-returned item in the footwear range for that reason. If you are ordering online and are between sizes, go up.

Rank 9. OMP First S Race Suit, £384.00. The highest-priced item on the list and the only one over £200. FIA 8856-2018 rated, entry-level in the OMP race suit range. Nineteen sold is not a large number in absolute terms, but a race suit is not an impulse purchase: every one here represents a driver making their first FIA-rated suit commitment, or replacing kit they have worn for a few seasons. At £384 inc VAT it is the cheaper end of what a new club racer needs to get onto a race licence.

What the nine say about where customers start

The most obvious number on this list is the gap at the top. The drawstring helmet bag at 175 sold is three times the volume of the next item. That margin is not about the bag. It is about how many transactions include a small accessories purchase alongside something else: a £6 item going into the basket with a helmet order barely registers as a decision.

Three OMP First items at five, eight and nine tell you something about how most new club racers build their kit. The balaclava usually goes first, often with the first helmet. The boots come with the first suit. The suit is often the last commitment, because it is the most visible spend. Twenty-five balaclavas and nineteen suits in the same period is about the right ratio for a pattern where some drivers buy the balaclava a season or two before they commit to the full FIA kit.

The Sparco mechanics overalls at number two is the item Garreth did not expect to see that high. Workshop wear sits alongside race wear in the same catalogue, and it sells to a slightly different customer: someone who is preparing or maintaining a car as well as driving it. At £73.20 it is not an expensive decision for a season’s work at the track, but it also shows up as a one-off order from club racers who want something to wear while working on the car in the evenings.

Every item on this list except the OMP First Race Suit is under £150 inc VAT. The most expensive single product costs £384 and it is the entry-level suit from one of the more accessible race wear brands. That is the realistic picture of where most new motorsport customers start.

There is no bundle on the site, but they are the three pieces of the OMP First entry-level FIA kit and they go out together regularly. Add all three to the basket: the combined price is £562.80 inc VAT. Give us a call on 0115 9893488 to confirm availability and lead times before ordering.

The X-Pro is rated for track days and karting. For circuit racing under a Motorsport UK licence, you will generally need a BSI or FIA 8860-rated helmet. The X-Pro does not carry those ratings. If you are unsure which standard applies to your licence category and event, we can check it with you before you order.

No. The MS-4 is mechanics wear, not race wear. It is oil and chemical resistant and rated for workshop and trackside preparation use. It is not suitable for wearing inside a race car at a licenced event. If you need FIA-rated overalls for circuit use, we can point you at the right product.

It is a drawstring bag, not a padded clamshell. It keeps dust and minor marks off the helmet shell between uses; it does not protect against knocks. If you want a padded bag with meaningful protection, we stock padded helmet bags from £37.20 in the helmet bags range.
