A batch of the new OMP GP-R has just landed, and the showroom display is full of them. We have sizes S to XL here ready to go out straight away, and the rest of the size range can be ordered on the site.
The GP-R is OMP's composite full face helmet, and it is a good all rounder. Here is what it has, and who it suits.

What is on this page
What the GP-R is
The GP-R is a full face helmet in a lightweight composite shell, approved to FIA 8859-2015, with the HANS posts already fitted. Inside, the lining is soft fabric, and it fastens with a double ring closure.
Two things set it apart at its price. The ventilation is generous, with four intakes in the chin and eight vents on top. And the eye port is a standard size, so it takes either a classic full shield or OMP’s touring sun peak, which is sold separately as SC179.
On the shelf you can see the vents along the top of the shell and the grey graphic OMP put on the white helmet.
Cameron's point on the eye port is a practical one. Because it takes a shield or a sun peak, the same helmet can do an open car one weekend and a saloon the next, with a change of visor.

Who it suits
OMP pitch the GP-R at everything from formula cars to GT cars, and that is fair. With a full shield it suits open cars; with the sun peak it suits saloons and GT. For a club racer who wants one approved full face helmet that can move between cars, it is a sensible buy.
