The new KMX-5 V2
The KMX-5 is a key suit in Alpinestars' karting range, and for 2023 it has been reworked. The KMX-5 V2 is a two-layer suit approved to CIK-FIA Level 2, built to breathe better and weigh less without giving up protection.
It uses a new outer shell material with a soft knit lining. Laser-cut perforations across the upper chest and back, and open mesh at the sides, crotch and underarms, let air through to keep your temperature down.

The panels on the arms, legs and body are shaped to stop material bunching when you are sat in a kart for a long time. Floating arms and stretch knit at the shoulders and lower back give a close fit that does not restrict you. It comes in three colourways: black, white and orange; white, black and red; and black and dark shadow, in sizes 40 to 60.
The rest of the Alpinestars karting range
We have six Alpinestars kart suits in the range, each with a choice of colours and sizes. The KMX-9 V2 Graphic now has four new designs for 2023, so there are 11 colour options to pick from.
Across the range, Alpinestars pairs a lighter outer shell with a soft knit inner lining, to keep the weight down without cutting protection. If you are new to karting, check what your club or championship asks for before you order. Our guide to kart suit standards explains the levels.

Race suits to try in the showroom
For car racing, we have two Alpinestars race suits on display: the Stratos and the Atom. You can book a time to come in and try them on. Garreth’s advice with any suit is to try it first, because the fit through the shoulders and arms matters as much as the size on the label.
The Stratos has been discontinued, so the ones we have left are the last of them, at a reduced price. It is a two-layer FIA approved suit made from aramid fibre, with fully floating arms for free movement. The Atom has many more colours and sizes available on our site.
