We have been through our whole Arai range for the 2022 season. Every helmet has new information, current FIA approvals and updated prices, and there are new models on the site too.
The range covers open and full face helmets across a wide spread of sizes, up to top end carbon helmets for serious competition. The headline addition is the Arai GP-7 family.

What we have updated
The update covers every Arai helmet we list. Each one now shows current information, its FIA approvals and an updated price, so it is easier to compare them side by side and check them against your championship’s rules.
The range runs from open face helmets to closed face helmets for circuit racing, and at the top it includes strong, light carbon fibre helmets for drivers who compete seriously.
New for 2022: the Arai GP-7 range
The GP-7 models sit at the top of the Arai range, and we now have them on the site. The flagship is the GP-7 SRC ABP carbon helmet, which Arai describes as its strongest helmet. It meets FIA 8860-2018, the FIA's highest helmet standard.
The shell is hand laid carbon fibre, very light and very strong, and it is shaped to work with an FHR device.
SRC stands for Super Racing Carbon. It differs from regular carbon because it is designed to flex without splintering. Any flex in the outer shell passes to a multi-density inner shell, which spreads and absorbs the energy of an impact.
Alongside it are the GP-7 SRC Carbon and the fibreglass GP-7 FRP, which bring the same GP-7 design to different budgets and different approvals, so check the standard on each listing against what your series asks for.
The Arai GP-5W
For most club drivers, the GP-5W is the helmet to look at. It is a mid-range clubman helmet made from premium materials using Arai’s Complex Laminate Construction, which gives a durable but light composite shell.
It is designed for closed cockpit racing, with an anti-dazzle sun peak, a wide visor aperture for good visibility, and the option to fit a visor, which is sold separately.
