The Complete BC Racing Coilover Guide for Skoda
The Octavia is the first question most Skoda owners ask about, and it is also where the BC Racing catalogue catches people out. The Mk2 and Mk3 Octavia each appear twice in the range, once for 49.5mm front struts and once for 54.5mm. Order the wrong specification and the kit will not fit. Before you check which series you want, you need to know your strut bore.
The same applies to the Karoq, which appears twice on the same NU7 chassis depending on whether your car has a multi-link or torsion beam rear axle. Check your suspension type first and the rest of the selection is straightforward.

Which BC series fits your Skoda?
The BR series covers twenty-four of the twenty-six Skoda listings, so it is the default starting point for almost every build. RM is available alongside BR on most of the modern range, from the Fabia PJ onward, adding a remote reservoir canister for more tunability. The two oldest models in the range, the first-generation Superb [3U, 01-08] and the original Fabia [6Y, 99-07], take a V1 kit rather than BR. The Octavia Combi AWD on the NX5 platform is the one car where RM, ER and ZX all sit alongside BR.

The Octavia strut diameter: 49.5mm or 54.5mm?
The Mk2 Octavia [1Z, 04-13] and the Mk3 [5E, 13+] both appear twice in the BC Racing range because the front strut outer diameter varies across production. Some cars left the factory with 49.5mm struts and others with 54.5mm. The kits are not interchangeable: if you fit the wrong one the coilover body will not seat correctly in the strut housing. You can measure the outer diameter of your existing front strut body with a pair of digital calipers. If you are unsure, an independent VAG specialist can look it up from your VIN.
The Karoq [NU7, 17+] has a similar split, but on the rear rather than the front. It appears twice based on rear suspension architecture: multi-link and torsion beam. Check your car’s configuration before ordering. Estate variants and some AWD Karoqs typically use the multi-link rear, while standard FWD hatchback Karoqs usually have the torsion beam.
What to check before you order
Front strut diameter is the main thing for any Octavia or Yeti listing. The strut bore is stated in the product title, so match it to your car before adding to the basket. For the Kodiaq, note that the NS7 [2016 onward] and PS7 [2024 onward] are different generations and listed separately. The Octavia VRS from 1996 to 2004 is a separate listing to the standard first-generation Octavia on the same 1U platform, so search by the correct model name.
The Superb range covers three generations and four body variants across nine listings. If you are on the B8 [15-23] generation, check whether your car is FWD or AWD as both Sedan and Combi variants have separate kits. The newest B9/NZ5 [24+] Superb Combi has FWD and AWD options listed separately as well.
