We have updated our OMP race boot and glove range with the latest 2023 information: safety features, current FIA approvals and the new colour options OMP has released this year.
The headline change is two new colours for the OMP First race shoes and the First-S gloves: light blue and fuchsia pink. On the gloves, the colour runs along the stripes from the thumb and around the wrist. We are looking forward to getting some into the showroom for the displays.

What has changed for 2023
Each OMP boot and glove listing now shows the current FIA approval, the safety features and the full set of colour and size options. That makes it easier to check an item against your championship’s rules before you order, and to compare one model with another.
We like the way the two new colours, light blue and fuchsia pink, have turned out, and they give drivers a brighter way to match their boots and gloves.
The OMP First race shoes
The First race shoe is the updated design of OMP’s popular First-S boot, and it now comes in light blue and fuchsia pink for 2023. It is made from full suede with a rubber sole for grip on the pedals, and it fastens with laces and a Velcro strap.
OMP has given it a rounded heel, which lets the foot pivot more easily between the pedals, and a reinforced patch on the toe to protect against wear. The First is approved to FIA 8856-2018.
The OMP First-S gloves
The First-S is one of OMP's most popular race gloves. It has a Nomex palm with silicone inserts for grip, and an elasticated wrist for a close fit.
The latest version has been redesigned for more heat and flame protection, so it meets the FIA 8856-2018 standard. The new light blue and fuchsia pink colours sit on the stripes that run from the thumb and around the wrist.

Getting the fit right
Garreth’s advice is to try boots on with the socks you will race in, and to check that gloves are snug with no loose material at the fingertips.
