New OMP One Evo FX Race Boot For 2024
Racewear news, April 2024
OMP has a new race boot for 2024, and it has just joined our OMP boot range. The One Evo FX is a lightweight, FIA 8856-2018 homologated boot built around pedal feel, with slim carbon fibre inserts in the sole.
At the same time we have been through the rest of our OMP boots and gloves, bringing the listings up to date for the 2024 season, and there are two new colours in the First range as well.
- New for 2024: the OMP One Evo FX race boot, part number IC0-0831
- Homologated to FIA 8856-2018
- Nomex upper with slim carbon fibre inserts in the sole
- Our OMP boot and glove listings updated for the 2024 season
- New light blue and fuchsia colours for the OMP First S gloves and First boots

What the One Evo FX is
OMP places the One Evo FX at the top of its boot range. It was developed for professional drivers and draws on the company's Formula 1 work, which shows in how light it is.
The upper is fireproof Nomex fabric, chosen for low weight and breathability, with silicone reinforcement on the toe and heel where boots wear first. Inside, a honeycomb layer helps with sweat on hot days and in closed cockpits.

The sole is where it differs most. Slim carbon fibre inserts stiffen it so it does not flex under pedal pressure, which gives a more consistent feel on the brake. The natural rubber outsole has two different surface patterns: a finer one at the front for feel on the pedals and a grippier one at the heel.
Like the OMP First and Sport race boots, it is homologated to FIA 8856-2018, the current standard for driver footwear. What the extra money buys is weight, stiffness and feel, not a different approval.

Our OMP boots and gloves, updated for 2024
Alongside the new boot, we have gone through our OMP race boots and gloves and brought every listing up to date for 2024: safety features, current FIA approvals, and the new variations OMP has released this year.
The OMP First race boot stays our starting point in the range. It carries the same FIA 8856-2018 approval as the One Evo FX, so for scrutineering the two are equal. For a driver doing a handful of track days or a first season, it is a sensible way in.
New colours for the First S gloves and First boots
Two new colours have arrived for the OMP First S race gloves and the First race boots: light blue and fuchsia pink. On the gloves the colour runs in the stripes from the thumb and around the wrist.
The First S glove has a Nomex palm with silicone inserts for grip and an elasticated wrist, and it has been redesigned to meet the latest FIA requirements.

Garreth’s advice with any race boot is to size it snug. Boots are made to be close fitting so you can feel the pedals, and they will feel different from a road shoe. Our guide to choosing FIA race boots covers the approval and the fit in more detail.
