Alpinestars KMX-9 V3 Graphic Kart Suit Now Online In Seven Designs
Kartwear news, August 2025
The Alpinestars KMX-9 V3 Graphic kart suit is now on the site, in all seven of its designs and eleven sizes. It is the graphic version of the KMX-9 V3, Alpinestars' kart suit for club and intermediate racers, and the one to look at if you want a suit with a bit more colour than plain black.
It is approved to FIA 8877-2022 Grade 1, the FIA's current standard for karting suits. That approval is for karting. It does not make it a race suit for cars, which is a different standard altogether.
- Approved to FIA 8877-2022 Grade 1 for karting
- Two-layer construction with a moisture-wicking lining
- Stretch panels at the lumbar and shoulders
- Mesh panels for ventilation
- Seven colour designs
- Eleven sizes, 40 to 60

What the KMX-9 V3 Graphic is
The KMX-9 V3 sits in the middle of Alpinestars’ kart suit range, above the KMX-5 V3. It is built for drivers racing at club level and moving up, who want a proper two-layer suit without going to the top of the range.
The outer layer is made to resist abrasion, which is what matters most in a kart suit, and it is cut to keep bunching to a minimum when you are sat low in the seat. Inside, a moisture-wicking lining keeps you drier over a long session. The arms, legs and torso are shaped for the driving position, with stretch panels at the lumbar and shoulders so the suit moves with you, and mesh panels to let air through on a hot day.
FIA 8877-2022 Grade 1, for karting only
FIA 8877-2022 is the FIA standard for karting suits, and the KMX-9 V3 Graphic is approved to Grade 1. That makes it suitable for kart racing where an approved suit is required. Always check your own championship’s rules for the grade they ask for.
A kart suit is made to protect against abrasion, not fire. It is not an FIA race suit for cars, so if you also compete in cars you need an FIA 8856-2018 suit for that. Our kart suit standards guide explains the difference, and our answer to whether an FIA suit can be used for karting covers the other way round.
Seven designs to choose from
The seven designs are black and red, grey and black, black and fluorescent yellow, navy blue and red, white with green and red, anthracite with black and red, and white with orange and black.
A graphic suit is an easy way to give yourself or a team a look that is easy to spot on the grid, and most of these designs pair well with Alpinestars' kart gloves and boots.

Sizes run from 40 to 60 in eleven steps. Garreth’s advice is to measure rather than guess, because a kart suit that is too big bunches in the seat and one that is too small pulls across the shoulders when you turn the wheel.
