Stilo Venti4 Trophy: New Approvals, And The Year Your Old Helmet Runs Out
Stilo has updated the Venti4 Trophy range for 2026 and there are three new items on the site: the Trophy Jet, the Trophy Plus Rally, and the DG-20 Raid intercom amplifier.
Worth starting with the calendar rather than the products, because for a lot of people reading this the calendar is the reason they are here at all.
Snell SA2015 helmets expire on 31 December 2026. If you are running one, this is the year it stops being eligible, and it stops on a fixed date rather than when it looks worn out. Both Venti4 Trophy helmets carry Snell SA2025 and FIA 8859-2024, which are the current generation of both standards. That is not a coincidence of timing. It is why they exist.
What the two approvals actually mean for you
FIA 8859-2024 is the FIA’s helmet standard for closed cars and it replaces 8859-2015. Snell SA2025 is the Snell Foundation’s competition standard and it replaces SA2020, which replaced SA2015.
The reason both appear on the same helmet is that different championships accept different lists. Some UK events are happy with the Snell route, some want the FIA number, and a helmet carrying both saves you checking. That is genuinely useful if you do a mixed season of club events.
What matters more than either label is the expiry. Snell standards run on a rolling ten year cycle and helmets fall off the accepted list at the end of a calendar year, not on a rolling anniversary of when you bought them. So an SA2015 lid bought in 2020 still goes out of date at the end of 2026, and the sticker inside the shell is what a scrutineer reads.

Stilo Venti4 Trophy Jet
The entry point into the range at £315, and the one I sell most of.
It is an open face jet with an adjustable peak, and Stilo has brought protection technology down from its WRC helmets, most obviously the EPS cheek pads which are aimed at side impacts. Two shell sizes cover XS at 54 cm through to XXXL at 64 cm, which is a genuinely wide range and takes in heads that a lot of manufacturers give up on.
The clever part is what is already in it. There is no intercom fitted, but the ear cups are built into the shell. So you can buy it now without comms and add a Stilo WRC or Trophy intercom kit later without changing helmet. If you are building a car up over a couple of seasons, that matters.
You also choose whether it comes with FHR posts fitted from the factory or not. Get this right at the point of order. Retro-fitting posts is not a job you want to be arranging in March.
An optional flip-up visor is available if you want eye protection beyond the peak. On a gravel event I would have one.

Stilo Venti4 Trophy Plus Rally
The same idea with the comms already done, from £528.
Fibreglass and Kevlar composite shell, Stilo’s WRC intercom fitted as standard, noise attenuating earmuffs with proper speakers in them, and a magnetic dynamic noise cancelling microphone on a flexible internal holder so you can position it and it stays where you put it. That last bit sounds trivial until you have spent a stage with a mic that has drifted off your mouth.
The shell is new rather than carried over, and it has been redesigned around Stilo’s WL wireless system. The comms plug has been moved so the wireless key does not foul the FHR posts or the straps, which was a real annoyance on the previous generation. It still runs wired into Stilo DG and WRC amplifiers, so you are not forced down the wireless route to use it.
FHR posts are fitted as standard on this one rather than being an option.
Same two colours, white or titanium. Titanium in the flesh is a warm grey with a slight metallic look to it, not silver, and it hides road film considerably better than the white does.

The DG-20 Raid, and the £60 lead you cannot run it without
The other new item is the Stilo DG-20 Raid digital intercom amplifier, at £458.
It is built for cross-country, raid and dirt racing, which is a genuinely different problem from stage rally. Constant vibration, dust in everything, big temperature swings, and an enormous amount of low frequency noise coming up through the car. The DG-20 Raid runs a digital active noise cancellation filter that analyses what is around you and strips it out in real time, and you can adjust voice return and microphone gain independently.
It also has USB-C for the Stilo app, so firmware updates and configuration happen on an Android phone rather than by posting the unit somewhere. There are camera and radio ports built in, so onboard footage gets your audio and team radio comes into the same system.
Now the important bit, and the reason this section exists. The DG-20 Raid needs the Stilo AC0204.2 adaptor lead to work, and it does not come with one.
The reason is straightforward once you see it. The amplifier has female Nexus connectors built into the unit. The AC0204.2 is the male Nexus lead that mates to them and brings your helmet in. Stilo lists the adaptor as required for operation, and we have grouped it in the bought-together section on the product page so it is hard to miss.
The lead is £60 and it is 32 to 55 cm adjustable, which also lets you run a Stilo helmet into Peltor or ZeroNoise systems if that is what your car already has. So it is not money wasted even if you change amplifier later.
Please just buy it at the same time. I have had this conversation on a Friday afternoon before an event more than once and nobody enjoys it.

Jet or Plus: how I would decide
The two helmets are close cousins and the honest split is not about protection. Both carry the same two approvals and both use the EPS cheek pad construction.
Buy the Jet if you do not need an intercom yet, or if you are running circuit or hillclimb where you are on your own in the car. You can add comms later and you have saved a couple of hundred pounds in the meantime.
Buy the Trophy Plus Rally if you already know you need comms. Once you have bought a Jet and then added a WRC intercom kit, the gap between the two narrows considerably, and the Plus arrives set up and tested rather than assembled on your kitchen table.
Where I would push you towards the Plus regardless is if you are the co-driver. You are reading notes for hours and the quality of what is in your ears is the whole job. Skimping there is a false economy in a way it simply is not for the driver.
Final thoughts: check the sticker in your current helmet
Before you do anything else, take your helmet off the shelf and read the label inside. If it says SA2015, you have until the end of December and then it is done. If it says SA2020 you have longer, but you now know what the replacement looks like.
If you are replacing one, work out whether you need comms before you look at prices. That decides which of the two you are buying far more cleanly than the money does.
