BC Racing ER Series Coilovers Explained
Look up most hot hatches and sports coupes in our BC Racing range and you’ll find the same product listed under both BR and ER. Only one of the 181 ER fitments we carry doesn’t also show up in BR, so ordering ER on most of these cars means choosing the second damping dial on a kit that already exists in BR, rather than picking from a separate range.
BR gives you one 30-way adjuster that moves compression and rebound together. ER splits that into two separate dials, one for how hard the damper compresses over a bump, one for how hard it releases afterwards. On a fast road car or a trackday regular that matters, because getting the rebound wrong on its own can unsettle the car on a quick direction change even when the compression side is set right.

Who reaches for the second dial
Two dials mean two settings to get right instead of one, so ER tends to land with customers who already know roughly what they’re chasing. That’s usually a fast road car that needs to stay planted under braking without going harsh on a poor surface, or a trackday car whose setup gets adjusted session to session. If someone wants a kit fitted and forgotten, I point them at BR. If they’re going to keep adjusting it through the year, ER earns its keep.
The makes ER covers
ER is fitted across 24 of the 50 makes in our BC Racing range, 181 listings in total. BMW carries by far the deepest ER range at 44 listings, then Honda at 24, Nissan at 17, Toyota at 15, Subaru at 11 and Mazda at 10. After that it thins out fast: Volkswagen, Ford, Mitsubishi, Lexus and Mercedes each carry a handful, and the rest carry ER on one to three fitments apiece. The full breakdown is below.

Final thoughts
BMW carries the deepest ER range on our site by some distance, and our BMW guide goes into the chassis-specific detail for that range. Our BC Racing series guide covers where ER sits against BR, RM and the rest of the range if you want the wider picture before deciding.
