Alpinestars Karting Gloves Updated For 2024
Kartwear news, August 2024
We have been through our Alpinestars karting gloves for 2024. The range has new models in it, every listing has fuller information, and the colours and sizes are set up as options on each glove.
There are five Alpinestars kart gloves to choose from, and they are not all built for the same job. Some are made for racing under FIA rules, others for club and rental karting, so it is worth knowing which is which before you pick a colour.
- Our Alpinestars karting glove range is updated for 2024
- Five Alpinestars kart gloves, each in a choice of colours and sizes
- The Tech 1-KX V4 and Tech 1-K V3 are approved to FIA 8877-2022

The two FIA 8877-2022 gloves
The Tech 1-KX V4 is the top of the Alpinestars kart glove range. It has pre-curved fingers and palm so the material does not bunch on the wheel, external seams for a closer fit, a bonded stretch lining, and a 3D silicone print on the palm and fingers for grip. The thumb and second fingertip work on a touch screen.
The Tech 1-K V3 is the other approved glove. It uses a two layer, four way stretch material, pre-curved fingers, a silicone grip print, semi-external palm seams and a fully printed design that keeps the weight down. Both carry FIA 8877-2022 approval for karting.
Why the approval matters this year
FIA 8877-2022 is the first FIA standard to cover karting gloves and shoes as well as suits. Gloves are tested for abrasion, tearing, seam strength and resistance to contact heat, and an approved glove carries a hologram label.
From 1 January 2025, drivers in FIA karting championships, cups and trophies must wear approved gloves. National and club rules can differ, so check what your own championship asks for. Our kart suit standards guide covers the clothing rules in more detail.
The Tech 1-K Race V2 and the rest of the range
The Tech 1-K Race V2 is a lighter, printed glove with a mesh back, a synthetic suede palm with silicone detail, and ventilated mesh between the fingers. It suits club racing, rental karting and practice, where the rules do not ask for an FIA glove.
Each glove in the range comes in several colours and a spread of sizes. Garreth's advice is to measure round the palm and order the size that is snug without pulling across the knuckles.

Alpinestars kart boots and suits sit alongside the gloves if you want the set to match. For a wider look at what to wear on the wheel, see our karting gloves guide.
