The New Sparco Gulf Racewear Collection: Suit, Boots And Gloves For 2025

Sparco has launched a Gulf collection for the 2025 season, and the three racewear pieces have just gone live on our site: the Gulf Replica race suit, the Gulf Top race boots and the Gulf Land race gloves.
They wear the light blue and orange of the Gulf racing livery, but they are proper FIA racewear underneath, not merchandise. Here is what each piece is, how they go together, and what to check before you order.

Why Gulf colours
The light blue and orange of Gulf Oil is one of the best known liveries in motorsport. John Wyer’s Gulf-backed Ford GT40 won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1968 and again in 1969 with the same chassis, and the colours stayed with his team into the 1970s. Sparco describes this collection as a nod to that 1970s Le Mans era.
What we like is that the collection is restrained. The suit is not a copy of a car’s paintwork; it is a white suit with one stripe and a small roundel, so it looks right in a historic paddock and just as right in a modern club race.
Gulf Replica race suit. A two-layer suit approved to FIA 8856-2018, in white with a narrow blue and orange stripe running from the collar to the belt. Sparco uses its lightweight aramid box-quilted fabric, with pre-curved sleeves, stretch panels and breathable inserts at the lower back. Sizes run from 48 to 66.
Gulf Top race boots. High-top navy suede boots, also FIA 8856-2018, with padded ankle bellows, reinforced toe and heel, an oil and fuel resistant rubber sole, and laces with a Velcro strap over the top.
The Gulf Land gloves
The Land gloves are a single-panel aramid glove with internal stitching and suede reinforcement across the palm, finished with an elasticated anti-slip cuff. They carry FIA 8856-2018 and SFI 3.3/5 approvals, and come in navy blue or cream, so you can match the boots or go for the more period cream look.
Glove sizing runs XS to XXL. Hands are easy to get wrong, so measure around the knuckles before you pick a size.

Buying the collection as a set
The approval belongs to each item, not to the look, so check all three labels against your championship’s regulations just as you would with any other racewear. All three pieces here are FIA 8856-2018, the current standard for suits, gloves and boots.
Garreth’s advice is to size the suit first, because that is the piece that is hardest to get right.
