New B-G Boss Kits for BMW, Audi and Alfa Romeo
Steering news, March 2025
We have been adding B-G Racing boss kits to the site through March, and the latest batch covers BMW, Audi and Alfa Romeo. The range runs from classics such as the BMW 2002 and Alfa Romeo Montreal to modern cars such as the BMW M2 and 4 Series.
A boss kit is the part that lets you fit an aftermarket steering wheel. Each B-G kit is machined for one car's steering column on one side and drilled for aftermarket wheels on the other.

What a boss kit does
An aftermarket steering wheel will not bolt to a car’s column on its own. The boss kit sits between the two, matching the column splines on one side and the wheel bolt pattern on the other. It also sets how far the wheel sits from the dash, which affects your reach to the stalks and the room for your knees.
B-G kits are machined from aluminium and come with the fixings needed to fit them. They are drilled for both 6 x 70 mm wheels, the pattern used by MOMO, Sparco and OMP, and 6 x 74 mm wheels such as Nardi, so you are not tied to one wheel brand. A quick release can go between the boss kit and the wheel if you want one.
BMW
The BMW kits cover a long span. At the classic end there are kits for the BMW 700, 1502, 1602, 1802 and 2002. The modern ones cover the 1 Series from 2004, the 2 Series and M2 from 2014, the 4 Series from 2013, and the 5 Series from 1995 to 2010, plus the Z1 and the 8 Series of the early 1990s.

Audi
For Audi there are kits for the Audi 80 and 100 of the late 1970s, the A4 in B5 and B6 form, the A6 and S6 of 1994 to 1997, the S4 of 1994 to 1998, and the Audi V8. Our BMW hub guide and Audi hub guide list every kit by model and year.
Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo is the biggest group, with more than thirty kits. They include the Giulia, Giulietta, Spyder in several generations, Alfetta GT, GTV, 1750, 2000 and Montreal, through the 33, 75 and 164 to the 147, 159, GT, GTA and MiTo.
Each listing says whether the kit is collapsible or non-collapsible. A non-collapsible hub is a solid part, which is what most track and competition cars run. Garreth’s advice for a road car is to think about that choice, and about the driver airbag, which is lost when the factory wheel comes off.
Which cars do the new B-G boss kits cover?
BMW, Audi and Alfa Romeo models, from classics such as the BMW 2002 to modern cars such as the BMW M2.
Which steering wheels fit a B-G boss kit?
They are drilled for 6 x 70 mm wheels such as MOMO, Sparco and OMP, and for 6 x 74 mm wheels such as Nardi.
Can I fit a quick release with a B-G boss kit?
Yes. A quick release bolts between the boss kit and the wheel.
What happens to my airbag when I fit a boss kit?
The driver airbag is in the factory wheel, so it is lost when that wheel comes off.
Dual drilling means you are not tied to one wheel brand when you change the wheel later.
Give us the model and year and we will match the B-G boss kit, and a wheel and quick release if you need them.
