Setup and installation
Spring rates and mounting parts are selected for the application. Have the kit installed and aligned by a suspension specialist. Check wheel, tyre and body clearance through the full steering and suspension travel, and follow the instructions supplied with the kit.
Ordering and lead time
This kit is made to order. The supplier currently advises an approximate four-week lead time, but this can change. Contact GSM Performance before booking installation if timing is critical.
Product image
The official manufacturer image represents this suspension family, not this exact vehicle-specific part number. Component shapes, mounts, spring layout and supplied contents can differ by application.
Current product-family information: AST x MOTON.
Will this fit my car?
This listing is for the Opel Speedster E01. Chassis code, model year, engine and drivetrain all matter, and AST often use different part numbers for cars that look the same, so check your car against the vehicle table in the description. If anything is unclear, send us your registration or VIN and we will check it before you order.
What can I adjust?
The AST 5100 Street is a monotube coilover with 12-position rebound adjustment, and the ride height is adjustable too.
What comes in the kit?
A coilover at the front, with a separate spring and damper at the rear laid out like the original car, so the rear spring rate is fixed for your car. It reuses your original top mounts. Springs are included.
How low will it go?
The height is set on the threaded body. How low it sits in practice depends on your wheels, tyres and how much bump travel you keep. Our guide Ride Height, Preload And Getting A Coilover Setup Right explains how to set it without running out of travel.
Is it right for road or track?
It depends how much of your driving is on track. Our guide Fast Road Or Track: Choosing The Damping On A Set Of Coilovers explains what 1-way, 2-way and 3-way adjustment gets you. Our AST Suspension At GSM Performance: The 5100, 5200 And 5300 Explained guide puts the three AST ranges side by side.
Can I fit it myself?
Our guide Fitting Coilovers At Home Or Having Them Done covers what the job involves. Either way, have the wheel alignment checked after fitting and check wheel and tyre clearance through full steering lock and suspension travel.
Can they be rebuilt?
Yes. AST and MOTON dampers are rebuildable through an authorised AST x MOTON service centre, and how often depends on how hard the car is used. Ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
How long does it take?
Each kit is made to order and the supplier currently quotes about four weeks. That can change, so if you have a fitting date booked, ask us before you order and we will confirm it.
