The Sparco ear plug speaker kit. Part number SPA00537046BT-1.

Micro speakers built into noise reducing ear plugs, and the reasoning behind that is worth understanding. A cockpit is loud. Putting a louder speaker next to your ear does not fix that, it just adds to the noise. An ear plug speaker does the opposite: it blocks what is coming in and delivers the speech directly, so you hear more at a lower volume.

In a full face helmet it also solves a space problem. There is nowhere to put a decent speaker inside a full face shell, and an ear plug needs no room at all.

What to pair it with

Sparco designed it to work with their full face microphone, and that pairing is the full face intercom setup they intend. Together they perform considerably better than either does with a generic partner.

Fit matters

Ear plug speakers only work if the plug seals. If it does not, you lose the noise reduction and most of the benefit. Take time over getting them in properly rather than pushing them at the last minute on the start line.

You also need an amplifier and a matching set for the other person in the car. Tell us what you are running and we will make sure the system works end to end.
