What is on this page
What the J-Pro is for
The J-Pro carries ECE 22-06 approval, the current European helmet standard. It is not an FIA or Snell motorsport approval, so it is not the helmet for a race licence or a series that lists an FIA standard. What it suits is a track day or club event in a closed car where the organiser accepts an ECE helmet.
It has no HANS posts, so if your event asks for a head and neck restraint you need a full face helmet with posts. Always check the event regulations before you buy.
How it is built
The shell is Sparco's ATM composite, which keeps the weight down for a full day at the circuit. Inside is a soft hypoallergenic lining that comes out for washing, and on the front is a peak that cuts glare on a bright day or in low sun.
It is a simple helmet, and that is the point. Garreth's advice for a first track day is to buy a helmet that fits properly and meets the organiser's rules.

Sizes
Sparco’s size chart for the J-Pro runs as below. Measure round your head just above the eyebrows. If you are between sizes, try both, as an open face helmet should be snug without pressing on the forehead. Our helmet sizing guide shows how to measure.
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| S | 55 to 56 cm |
| M | 57 to 58 cm |
| L | 59 to 60 cm |
| XL | 61 to 62 cm |
| XXL | 63 to 64 cm |
If you want a closed helmet at a similar level, the Sparco X-Pro and Club X1 Carbon are full face ECE helmets. There is more on the J-Pro in our J-Pro track day guide.
