OMP One Evo X R Racing Boots Now In Seven Colours For 2025
Racewear news, January 2025
OMP has widened the colour range of its One Evo X R racing boot for 2025. There are now seven colours to choose from, including a new orange and black, and the full range is on our site.
The One Evo X R is OMP's top-level boot, and what sets it apart is the rotor lacing: a dial in place of laces. Here is what it offers, how it differs from the laced One Evo X, and how to pick your size.
- The OMP One Evo X R now comes in seven colours, including a new orange and black
- Approved to FIA 8856-2018
- Rotor lacing: a dial tightens the boot evenly in seconds
- Kangaroo leather upper and an injected sole for pedal feel
- Sizes EU 37 to 48 (UK 4 to 13)

Seven colours for 2025
The One Evo X R now comes in black, white, black and yellow, blue, red, fluorescent yellow, and the new orange and black. The wider choice makes it easier to match your boots to your suit or your team colours, and all seven carry the same FIA 8856-2018 approval.
OMP makes gloves and a suit in the One Evo X family too, so if you want a matched set you can build one around the boots.
Rotor lacing. Instead of threading and tying laces, you turn a single dial, which pulls the cable tight and spreads the pressure evenly across the foot. It takes a couple of seconds and gives a more consistent fit than laces, which tend to end up tighter at the toe than at the ankle.
Over a race weekend, when you put your boots on and take them off several times a day, that is a real convenience, and there are no loose laces to catch on anything.

How the boot is made
The upper is soft kangaroo leather with fabric and perforated sections. Kangaroo leather is thinner and lighter than the cowhide used in most racing boots, which helps feel and breathability. A soft fleece inner liner and a rear bellow at the ankle add comfort and let the ankle flex.
Underneath is an injected sole with foot support, which gives a precise contact with the pedals. The only real difference from the One Evo X is the fastening: the Evo X uses thin cord laces, the Evo X R uses the rotor dial.

Sizing
Sizes run from EU 37 to EU 48, which is UK 4 to UK 13. A race boot should fit closely, because a thin sole only gives good pedal feel if your foot is not moving inside the boot. Garreth’s advice is to tell us your usual shoe size and whether you have a wide foot, and we will point you to the right size.
As with any racewear, check the approval on the boots and on every other item against your championship’s regulations. Our guide to choosing FIA race boots covers approvals, sizing and pedal feel in more detail.
