The Complete B-G and MOMO Triumph, Bentley and Rare Marque Steering Wheel Hub Guide

MK7800, the MOMO hub for nine Triumph models from the Herald to the TR6, is also the hub for the Austin-Healey Sprite, the MG MGB and three classic Fords. It is the widest-reaching single part in this guide. BG8354, already familiar from our Austin and Innocenti guides, turns up again here through the Innocenti Mini 90-1, a De Tomaso-badged Innocenti built after De Tomaso took a stake in the Italian firm in the 1970s. BG8365 covers the Proton Arena and also fits two Mitsubishi models, because Proton built its early cars on Mitsubishi underpinnings.

This is the long tail of the catalogue, the last guide in this programme: 28 boss kits across nine makes that would not fill a page each on their own, Triumph, De Tomaso, SsangYong, Tata, Bentley, Proton, Yugo, Zastava and UAZ. I am Cameron, and I look after the steering wheel side of things at GSM Performance.

Which boss kit fits your car

An aftermarket wheel will not bolt onto any of these columns on its own. The boss kit bridges the two, machined to match the spline count and column depth of your specific model and year. The table below is grouped by make, then by part number.

Green rows share a part code with Austin-Healey, MG, Ford, Austin, Innocenti, Mitsubishi, Maserati or Ford models not listed in this guide.

De Tomaso, SsangYong, Tata, Bentley, Proton, Yugo, Zastava and UAZ do not have their own brand search buttons on this site, the volume for each is too small to justify one and several of these names return unrelated results in a plain search. Every listing for all eight is linked directly in the product grid below.

Fitting a steering wheel hub

So how does a Sparco wheel end up on a B-G hub? Because nearly every aftermarket motorsport wheel is drilled to the same bolt pattern, six bolts on a 70mm circle, written as 6 x 70mm PCD. MOMO, Sparco, OMP and the Mountney M-Range all use it. The hub is chosen by the car, the wheel is chosen by you, and the two brands never have to match.

6 × 70mm PCDMost wheels

MOMO, Sparco, OMP, Simoni Racing and the Mountney M-Range.

The B-G Racing hubs

Eleven B-G hubs, all solid non-collapsible and dual drilled for 6 x 70mm and 6 x 74mm. Triumph accounts for five (2500 PI, Dolomite, Stag, Herald and TR7/TR8). The remaining six cover De Tomaso (via the Innocenti Mini 90-1), SsangYong Musso and Korando, Tata, the Bentley Mulsanne and the Proton Arena/Jumbuck.

The MOMO and OMP hubs

Seventeen hubs across MOMO and OMP. MK7800 alone covers nine Triumph models, from the Herald and GT6 through all four Spitfire generations to the TR4, TR5 and TR6. MC4509 covers the De Tomaso Longchamp and Deauville and also fits the Maserati Kyalami, a direct link given De Tomaso owned Maserati from 1975 to 1993. OMP cover Triumph, Tata, Yugo, Zastava and UAZ with one solid non-collapsible hub each.

Triumph is the only make in this guide with enough volume for its own buttons. The rest, De Tomaso, SsangYong, Tata, Bentley, Proton, Yugo, Zastava and UAZ, are all linked directly in the sections above. If your car is not listed or you are unsure which part fits, drop a note with the model and year and we will confirm before you spend anything.

Why not add a steering wheel quick release kit

A quick release sits between the hub and the wheel and lets you pull the wheel off the column in one action. On a track-prepared classic that is useful for access and security. On a stripped interior it makes getting over the sill easier when the wheel is not fighting you.

B-G Racing quick releaseFittingSuits
UniversalBolt-onMost road and track cars, nothing to modify
StandardBolt-onThe same job in the heavier duty version
Weld-On 3-PointWeld-onA column that is already being cut and welded
Weld-On 6-PointWeld-onAs above, with the stiffer six bolt fixing

All four take the same 6 x 70mm pattern as the boss kits on this page, so whichever hub you choose will work with any of these.

Pair your boss kit with a high performance steering wheel

Once the hub is sorted the wheel is your choice. The classic Triumph sports cars suit a wood rim or plain suede wheel that matches the era. These are the ones I would look at first.

Every wheel we sell is drilled 6 x 70mm, so any of them will bolt to any of the hubs above. The real decision is diameter and dish, which changes how heavy the steering feels and how close the rim sits to your chest.

Final thoughts

This is the last guide in the current programme, the long tail of nine makes that individually would not justify a page but together cover every remaining boss kit we sell. Between MK7800 (Triumph, Austin-Healey, MG, Ford), BG8354 (Austin, Innocenti, De Tomaso) and MC4509 (De Tomaso, Maserati), even the rarest makes on our books connect back to guides earlier in this series.

If you are not sure which part fits, or the model on your car is not on the list, drop us a line with the registration. I will confirm the right kit before you order anything.
