The ZeroNoise question we get most is not which amplifier is best. It is whether the helmet you already own will plug into one. In October a customer asked us whether a ZeroNoise ear cup headset would fit his Sparco Flux RJ, and most weeks someone rings with a Bell in the driver's seat and something else on the co-driver's side.
The good news is that ZeroNoise, Bell, OMP and Sparco intercom helmets nearly all use the same 4-pin Nexus plug. The catch is that the plug comes in two genders, and the amplifier leads have to be the opposite one. This page lines up every helmet and kit we sell against every ZeroNoise amplifier, and tells you which leads to order.

Look at the plug on the helmet. A female Nexus socket, which is what every Bell rally intercom helmet, the Sparco Flux RJ-i and Prime RJ-i Supercarbon and the OMP J-Rally have, needs a ZeroNoise amplifier ordered with male leads. A male Nexus plug, which is what the ZeroNoise helmet kits have, needs female leads. Stilo WRC helmets join through the Stilo AC0204.2 lead, which ends in a male plug.
The ZeroNoise Valiant is the exception. It uses 6.35 mm stereo jacks, so it only takes the Valiant headsets and helmets with a stereo plug, such as the OMP Star J Intercom.
The answer appears here.
Cameron spends more time on the word female than on anything else in intercom wiring. This is how the terms sort out.
Helmets and kits are on the left and ZeroNoise amplifiers on the right. The boxes in the middle are the plug on the helmet, and they tell you which leads to order. Dashed lines need an extra lead or a quick check with us.
Hover or tab to a helmet and its connections light up.
The map needs a wider screen. On a phone, use the checker at the top of the page or the table below, which give the same answers.
Filter by brand, and scroll sideways on a phone. M means order the amplifier with male leads, F means female leads.

What each helmet plugs in with, and the ZeroNoise amplifiers it works with. Where we list more than one version, they all take the same plug.

Stilo Trophy electronics, which only work with the Stilo Trophy 2. No ZeroNoise route.
No ZeroNoise amplifier connects to it.
The same view from the other side. Every Nexus amplifier works with every Nexus helmet once the lead gender is right; the difference between them is noise processing, Bluetooth and wireless. Our rally and track intercom comparison goes through the features in more depth.

If your helmet has no intercom, a ZeroNoise kit fits behind the lining. The plug on the kit decides the amplifier leads, the same as on a helmet.

Most installs need no adaptor at all, because you order the amplifier with the right leads. These are for the cases where the genders already clash, or the run is too short.

Questions on a lead that is not here? Drop us an email or click to open a chat, and tell us the helmet and the amplifier.
This is the one that catches people out. Say the driver wears a Bell and the co-driver a Stilo Venti4 Trophy Plus. The Bell has a female socket and wants a male lead; the Stilo goes through the AC0204.2, which ends in a male plug and wants a female lead.
The ClearVoice amplifiers solve it at the point of order: choose the one male, one female version. On the Brave or Fury, both leads are the same gender, so add a 6400004 or 6400005 adaptor to the seat that does not match. Garreth’s rule at the counter: tell us both helmets before we choose the amplifier, not after.
Cameron says buy the Fury. The Brave is a good analogue box, but once a car gets loud the Fury’s TERRAIN and ENGINE filters and the BOOST button are what keep pace notes clear, and you are not going to change amplifier and leads again in two seasons.
Garreth says a quiet club car does not need it. The Brave plugs into exactly the same helmets, and the £115.80 difference to the Fury buys most of a second helmet kit. For a handful of road rallies a year, he would fit the Brave and not think about it again.
Where we agree: get the lead gender right when you order, and if the two seats are on different helmets, say so before you buy anything.
Three set-ups from the guide, with totals from the live prices. Each is one helmet and one amplifier, so add the second helmet for the other seat.
Bell helmet, analogue amplifier with male leads.
Digital filters for a louder car. Male leads.
One male, one female lead, plus the Stilo lead for the Stilo seat.
Yes. Every Bell rally intercom helmet has a ZeroNoise kit with a female Nexus socket, so order the ZeroNoise amplifier with male leads and it plugs straight in.
Yes, it uses a Nexus connector. Sparco publishes a female socket on the Flux RJ-i and Prime RJ-i Supercarbon, which take male leads. For the older RJ-i, RJ-i Carbon and the special editions, Sparco does not say which gender, so tell us the helmet and we will confirm the leads.
Yes. OMP fits a ZeroNoise intercom kit with a female Nexus plug, so it takes an amplifier with male leads.
A Stilo WRC-type helmet, such as the Venti4 Trophy Plus, Venti4 WRC or ST6 Rally, joins through the Stilo AC0204.2 lead into an amplifier with female leads. The Stilo Venti Trophy Rally runs Stilo Trophy electronics and does not connect to ZeroNoise.
No. The Valiant uses 6.35 mm stereo jacks and the Bell has a Nexus socket. The Brave is the entry Nexus amplifier.
No. The ZeroNoise 6400004 joins two female ends and the 6400005 joins two male ends. They are 15 cm crossed-wiring adaptors that go between the lead and the helmet.
The Bell Mag-10 Carbon Rally WW and HP10 Evo-II Rally WW, and the ZeroNoise WW headset. Any other Nexus helmet works with it on the wired leads.
Usually, yes. The open face and full face kits fit behind the lining. The ear cup kit fits the Sparco Flux RJ once its ear foams come out. Tell us the helmet and we will recommend the kit and plug.
Every pairing on this page comes down to one look at the helmet plug. Female socket, order male leads. Male plug, order female leads. Stereo jack, it is a Valiant job.
Ring us on 0115 647 8650 with the two helmets in your car and the amplifier you are looking at, and Garreth or Cameron will check the leads, or come in and see the helmets in the showroom.
