The Sparco Tuta MS-5 Mechanics Overalls, SKU 002019, are single-piece overalls designed for professional mechanics and service crew who spend full working days on a car. They carry no FIA fire protection approval and are not intended for anyone working in a fire-risk environment such as an active pit lane. Their purpose is durability, comfort, and practicality for workshop and paddock work.
The reinforced elbow panels are the most frequently replaced point of wear on any mechanics overall. On the MS-5, these are integral rather than adhesive-bonded, stitched directly into the outer shell so they do not peel or separate after washing. Removable kneepads are built into knee pockets rather than attached directly to the fabric, which means the driver of the pads can be replaced independently when they wear through without replacing the entire garment. An elasticated lower back panel stretches when the wearer bends and goes back to a close fit when standing, reducing the bunching and restriction that a rigid-cut overall creates when working close to the car.
Belt loops accommodate a radio or earpiece holder. The garment is cut for extended wear, with additional tool pockets and cable routing eyelets built in for typical workshop use. Available in black or grey across sizes XS through XXL.
The MS-5 sits between the MS-4 Overalls (simpler construction, poly-cotton mix) and the Sparco One Suit, which is a lighter single-layer suit more suited to drivers and officials than heavy workshop use.
Note: the brand attribute on this listing currently shows Alpinestars. This is a Sparco product.
