An adaptor that lets you use standard 3.5mm jack earplugs in a Stilo helmet, part number SLOAC0222.

Stilo helmets use a proprietary socket for their intercom and earplug connections. This adaptor converts that socket to accept any earplug with a standard 3.5mm jack, which covers most in-ear monitors, custom-moulded earphones and many aftermarket motorsport earplugs.

The most common reason to buy this is a driver with custom-moulded earplugs who wants to use them inside a Stilo ST5 or ST6 over Stilo’s off-the-shelf earplug fittings. Custom moulded earplugs give significantly better noise attenuation than universal-fit alternatives, and the difference in fatigue over a long race day is noticeable. At £53, this is a small cost against the price of the moulds themselves.

This adaptor does not add intercom capability. It is an earplug connection only. If you need to connect to a team radio or in-helmet intercom system, you need the intercom kit for your specific helmet type rather than this adaptor.

Is this the right lead for my setup?
Leads and adaptors are specific to the amplifier and helmet kit they join, and the plugs are not interchangeable between systems. Tell us which amplifier and helmets you run and we will confirm this is the right part before you order.

My intercom crackles or cuts out. Is a new lead the fix?
Often, yes. Leads live a hard life being trodden on and trapped in doors, and a damaged lead is the most common cause of noise or dropouts. If a replacement does not cure it, talk to us before replacing the amplifier, as it may be a connector or helmet-kit fault instead.

Stilo comes from central distribution

Stilo works the same way as Bell. Stocked items are around 10 working days, and special order items extend to around 20 days.

The helmets are often special order

Much of the Stilo helmet range is built rather than stocked, and those orders can run past 20 days.
