We have been through our whole range of MOMO and B-G boss kits for Ford and brought it up to date for 2025. The listings have revised product details and fitment information, and new Ford models have been added, with more than 90 B-G kits alone.
The range runs from the Escort Mk1 and Cortina to the Fiesta, Focus, Transit and Mustang. Here is what a boss kit does, how the two brands compare, and where a quick release fits in.

What a boss kit does
A boss kit, also called a hub adapter, is what lets an aftermarket steering wheel fit your car. One side is cut to match the splines on the Ford’s steering column. The other side is drilled for the six bolt pattern on the back of the wheel. It also sets how far the wheel sits from the dash.
Because columns change between models and often part way through a model’s life, the hub has to be right for the car. Many Fords have more than one kit listed, split by year, so check the year range in the title before you order.
The B-G Ford range
The B-G range now has more than 90 Ford kits. It is strong on older cars, with hubs for the Escort Mk1 and Mk2, the Cortina, the Capri and early Transits, and it covers American Fords such as the Mustang, Thunderbird and Torino.
Each B-G hub is machined from aluminium and drilled for both 6x70mm and 6x74mm wheels, so it takes MOMO, Sparco, OMP and Sabelt pattern wheels as well as Nardi pattern ones.
The MOMO Ford range
MOMO’s Ford kits are strong on later cars, with hubs for the Fiesta, Focus, Puma and Transit, the 2007 to 2014 Mustang GT, and classics such as the Sierra and the early Escort. They are machined from aluminium, and most are drilled for 6x70mm wheels, the pattern used by MOMO, Sparco and OMP.
Garreth’s advice when both brands list a kit for your car is to check the drilling first. If you might fit a Nardi pattern wheel later, the dual drilled B-G hub keeps that option open.
Adding a quick release
A quick release sits between the boss kit and the wheel, so the wheel can come off in a moment. That makes getting in and out of a car with a bucket seat and a cage much easier, and it means the wheel can come home with you.
A quick release adds depth, so the wheel ends up closer to you than with the hub alone. Allow for that when you choose the dish of the wheel. The B-G and MOMO Ford hub guide lists the kits model by model.
