What is on this page
The new OMP KS-XR
The KS-XR is OMP's new top kart boot for 2024. The obvious difference is the fastening. In place of laces there is a rotor dial: you turn it to tighten the boot, and it pulls the fit in evenly across the foot. OMP took the idea from their One Evo XR race boot.
The upper is perforated microfibre, which keeps the boot light and lets air through on a hot day. The sole is very thin, so you can feel the pedals properly, and there is extra protection at the toe where kart boots wear first.

The KS-XR is approved to FIA 8877-2022, the FIA standard for karting clothing. It comes in black, or in anthracite with silver and yellow detail.
Our updated OMP kart boot range
Every OMP kart boot on the site now has up to date information, pricing, images and the full choice of sizes and colours. The boots in the range share the same basic idea: a light, breathable upper and a thin sole that lets you feel exactly how hard you are pressing the brake. Where they differ is the design, the colours and the way they fasten, and the KS-XR is the only one with the rotor dial.
OMP kart boots are made for karting, and for road and track day use. They are not approved to FIA 8856-2018, the standard for car racing, so if you also race in a car you will need a separate pair of race boots for that. Our answer on FIA and karting kit explains how the two standards differ.

Sizing and a matching set
Kart boots should be snug, with no room for the heel to lift. A loose boot means the foot moves before the pedal does, and that is exactly the feel a thin sole is there to give you. Garreth’s advice is to go by your normal trainer size and ring us if you are between two.
If you are putting together a full set for the season, the OMP kart gloves and kart suits in our range come in many of the same colours, so it is easy to match the boots to the rest of your kit.
