A low-profile air intake vent for Stilo ST5 and ST6 helmets, part number SLOYA0861.
This is the alternative to the standard air intake (SLOYA0822) when you want more airflow without the height of the full-size vent. The difference is profile: the standard intake sits higher off the shell surface and pulls in more air; this version sits flatter and draws a smaller volume through the helmet’s ventilation channels. Both mount in the same position using adhesive tape and feed the same internal ventilation channels.
The practical reason to choose the low-profile version over the standard is aerodynamics in an open-cockpit car where the airflow over the front of the helmet is already significant. A shorter intake maintains the ventilation benefit without adding as much disruption to the flow around your head, which can reduce the vibration and drag sensation at higher speeds.
Both vents are removable and reattachable. They connect to the helmet’s existing ventilation channels without any modification to the shell. If you are fitting this to an ST6, check the channel alignment against the vent’s footprint before applying the adhesive tape permanently, as the channel positions vary slightly between ST5 and ST6 generations.
