The ZeroNoise Nexus extension cable (part 6400006) is a 150cm coiled lead with a male Nexus plug at one end and a female Nexus socket at the other, for extending the run between an intercom amplifier and a helmet kit.
Most intercom amplifiers are mounted on the roll cage, dashboard, or transmission tunnel, and the standard helmet cable length is long enough for most seating positions. In endurance cars, larger vehicles, or installations where the amplifier cannot be mounted close to the occupants, 150cm of additional reach makes the difference between a comfortable installation and a cable under tension. The coiled format means the lead does not go slack when the occupant moves within the seat, and does not trail loose cable across the cockpit during use.
Because one end is male and the other female, it keeps the genders as they were and simply adds length, whichever way round the amplifier lead and helmet plug are. The lead is a genuine ZeroNoise part and uses the same locking Nexus connectors as the rest of the range.
It suits ZeroNoise amplifiers and other 4-pin Nexus intercom systems. The male-to-female orientation here adds length, while the short male-to-male (6400004) and female-to-female (6400005) adaptors bridge gender mismatches rather than add distance.
