Sparco J-Pro Helmet Now On Display: An Open Face Helmet For Track Days
Helmet news, July 2024
The Sparco J-Pro is the latest helmet on our showroom display. It is an open face helmet for track days, available in black or white, and we have the white version in store to try on.
It is Sparco's entry level helmet. It is approved to the ECE road helmet standard, not to FIA, so it is not for competition that asks for an FIA or Snell helmet, but it is a sensible choice for track days in a closed car.
- The Sparco J-Pro is new on our showroom display
- Open face helmet with a peak
- Approved to ECE 22-06, not FIA or Snell
- Lightweight ATM composite shell
- Hypoallergenic, removable lining
- Black or white; white on display in store

What the J-Pro is
The J-Pro is an open face helmet with a peak. The shell is ATM composite, which keeps it light, and a lighter helmet puts less strain on your neck over a long day at the circuit. Inside, the lining is hypoallergenic, soft against the skin and removable for washing.
The peak helps on bright days, cutting down glare when the sun is low. Sizes run from S at 55 to 56cm up to XXL.
The J-Pro is approved to ECE 22-06, the road helmet standard. That is the important point when choosing one. It is not FIA or Snell approved, so it will not pass scrutineering at an event that asks for either.
Where it fits is track days, and karting sessions that do not ask for an approved helmet. For many drivers starting out on track days, that is exactly what is needed.

Our Sparco helmet display
The J-Pro joins a range of Sparco helmets on display in the showroom, open and full face, with different levels of approval. Having them side by side is the easiest way to see the difference between a track day helmet and one approved for competition. There are also two Sparco helmet bags on display, to keep a helmet protected between events.
Garreth’s advice with any helmet is to try it on. Fit matters as much as the approval: a helmet should be snug all round with no pressure points, and it should not move when you shake your head.
The rest of the Sparco range
The Sparco range runs from track day and karting helmets like the J-Pro up to FIA approved helmets for racing. Sparco have also added a choice of interior lining colours on some of their helmets, which varies by model.
On each Sparco helmet listing we have added matching items at the checkout, such as HANS devices for the full face helmets and balaclavas, so you can add what you need in the same order. Our guide to the J-Pro as a track day helmet goes into when it is the right choice.
