The Complete B-G and MOMO Dodge and Plymouth Steering Wheel Hub Guide
BG8147, the hub for the Dodge Spirit, Shadow, Lancer, Daytona and Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager and Acclaim, is also the hub for the Maserati TC. Chrysler and Maserati built the TC together from 1989 to 1991 on the Chrysler K-car platform, the same underpinnings as most of the Dodge range in this guide. MC6101, the Dodge Colt hub, also fits seven Mitsubishi models, because the Colt was a rebadged Mitsubishi sold through Chrysler dealers under the Diamond-Star partnership.
This is a small, closely related catalogue: 14 boss kits across Dodge and Plymouth, two badges on the same Chrysler platforms. If you have already read our Chrysler or Maserati guides, the K-car story continues here. I am Cameron, and I look after the steering wheel side of things at GSM Performance.
Which boss kit fits your car
An aftermarket wheel will not bolt onto a Dodge or Plymouth column on its own. The boss kit bridges the two, machined to match the spline count and column depth of your specific model and year. The table below shows every listing we carry.
| Model | Part code | Brand | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dodge / Plymouth | |||
| Dodge Shelby Charger (1984 Onward), Dodge Charger (1984 Onward), Plymouth Voyager (1984-1987), Plymouth Caravelle (Pre-1988) The earlier K-car generation hub, same platform family as BG8147. | BG8146 | B-G | Solid |
| Dodge Spirit (1988 Onward), Dodge Shadow (1985 Onward), Dodge Lancer (1985 Onward), Dodge Daytona (1984 Onward), Dodge Caravan (1988 Onward), Plymouth Voyager (1988 Onward), Plymouth Caravelle (1988 Onward), Plymouth Acclaim (1989 Onward) Also fits the Maserati TC, built by Chrysler on the same K-car platform in a joint venture with Maserati from 1989 to 1991. | BG8147 | B-G | Solid |
| Dodge Colt (1985 Onward) Also fits seven Mitsubishi models and the Hyundai Grandeur. The Dodge Colt was a rebadged Mitsubishi, sold through Chrysler dealers under the Diamond-Star partnership. | MC6101 | MOMO | Collapsible |
| Dodge Shelby Charger (1967 Onward) | BG8285 | B-G | Solid |
Green rows share a part code with Maserati, Mitsubishi or Hyundai models not listed in this guide.
BG8146 and BG8147 are two generations of the same Chrysler K-car hub, BG8146 the earlier cars, BG8147 the later ones. If your Dodge or Plymouth is a K-car derivative and the year is close to the split, check both listings before ordering.
Fitting a steering wheel hub
So how does a Sparco wheel end up on a B-G hub? Because nearly every aftermarket motorsport wheel is drilled to the same bolt pattern, six bolts on a 70mm circle, written as 6 x 70mm PCD. MOMO, Sparco, OMP and the Mountney M-Range all use it. The hub is chosen by the car, the wheel is chosen by you, and the two brands never have to match.
MOMO, Sparco, OMP, Simoni Racing and the Mountney M-Range.
Nardi, Personal and Raid.
Fitting it, in order

How each brand drills its hubs
The B-G Racing hubs
Thirteen B-G hubs, all solid non-collapsible and dual drilled for 6 x 70mm and 6 x 74mm. BG8147 covers eight models across both badges and also fits the Maserati TC. BG8146 covers the earlier K-car generation. BG8285 is a separate part for the classic 1967-onward Shelby Charger.
The MOMO hub
One MOMO listing: MC6101 for the Dodge Colt, which also fits seven Mitsubishi models and the Hyundai Grandeur.
Browse by brand
The buttons below link to the current range from each brand and make, so they stay accurate as stock changes. B-G has separate Dodge and Plymouth buttons since the two names do not overlap in a single search. If your car is not listed or you are unsure which part fits, drop a note with the model and year and we will confirm before you spend anything.

B-G Racing Dodge

A quick release sits between the hub and the wheel and lets you pull the wheel off the column in one action. On a track-prepared Dodge or Plymouth that is useful for access and security. On a stripped interior it makes getting over the sill easier when the wheel is not fighting you.
All four take the same 6 x 70mm pattern as the boss kits on this page, so whichever hub you choose will work with any of these.

Pair your boss kit with a high performance steering wheel
Once the hub is sorted the wheel is your choice. Any of our standard 6 x 70mm wheels will suit the K-car range. These are the ones I would look at first.

Every wheel we sell is drilled 6 x 70mm, so any of them will bolt to any of the hubs above. The real decision is diameter and dish, which changes how heavy the steering feels and how close the rim sits to your chest.
Final thoughts
Dodge and Plymouth are the same K-car story we have already told twice in this series, once for Chrysler and once for Maserati. BG8147 is the thread connecting all three, worth checking whichever guide you started from.
If you are not sure which part fits, or the model on your car is not on the list, drop us a line with the registration. I will confirm the right kit before you order anything.
