BG8240, the B-G hub for the classic Austin Mini, is also the hub for the MG MGA and the general Austin Healey. Three cars from the same era of British Motor Corporation ownership sharing one column. BG8354 covers the Austin Princess, Marina, Ital and Allegro, and the same part fits three Innocenti models, because late Innocentis were rebadged Austins after British Leyland acquired the brand. BG8277 covers the Austin A40 and also fits the Innocenti Spyder and the Austin Healey Frogeye, since Innocenti built the Frogeye under licence.
Austin is a B-G only catalogue on our site, 27 hubs and no MOMO, OMP or Sparco listings. That is not unusual for the classic British makes, MOMO’s range concentrated on European and Japanese cars from the seventies onward, and B-G Racing covers the gap. An aftermarket wheel will not bolt onto an Austin column on its own. The boss kit bridges the two, machined to match the spline count and column depth of your specific model and year. Fitting a steering wheel hub
So how does a Sparco wheel end up on a B-G hub? Because nearly every aftermarket motorsport wheel is drilled to the same bolt pattern, six bolts on a 70mm circle, written as 6 x 70mm PCD. MOMO, Sparco, OMP and the Mountney M-Range all use it. The hub is chosen by the car, the wheel is chosen by you, and neither brand has to match.

How each brand drills its hubs
The classic Austin hubs
Eight hubs covering the pre-1970s classics: the A35, A40, the Morris 1300, the Maxi, the Marina before 1973, and the 1100 and 1300/GT. BG8277, the A40 hub, is also the Innocenti Spyder and Austin Healey Frogeye hub. BG8275 covers five of these models and also fits the Austin Healey Sprite MK III and MK IV.
The Mini, Metro and Leyland-era hubs
Nineteen hubs covering the classic Mini through Metro, Maestro, Montego, Ambassador, Ital, Allegro and Princess, the British Leyland badge-engineering era. BG8240, the classic Mini hub, is also the MG MGA and Austin Healey hub. BG8354 covers the Princess, Marina, Ital and Allegro and also fits three Innocenti models. A quick release sits between the hub and the wheel and lets you pull the wheel off the column in one action. On a track-prepared classic Austin that is useful for access and security. On a stripped interior it makes getting over the sill easier when the wheel is not fighting you.

Pair your boss kit with a high performance steering wheel
Once the hub is sorted the wheel is your choice. The classic Mini and A35 suit a smaller diameter wood or suede wheel that matches the character of the car. These are the ones I would look at first.

Every wheel we sell is drilled 6 x 70mm, so any of them will bolt to any of the hubs above. The real decision is diameter and dish, which changes how heavy the steering feels and how close the rim sits to your chest.
