A Yellow Karting Combo: The OMP Circuit Evo 2 Fluro Helmet And Sparco K-Pole Boots
Karting kit, May 2025
Two pieces of yellow kit came together nicely this month: the OMP Circuit Evo 2 helmet in fluorescent yellow and the Sparco K-Pole kart boots in black and yellow. Put together, they make a bright, matching set for club karting, practice days and arrive and drive sessions.
Neither is FIA approved, and that is the point. They are kit for the karting most people actually do. Here is what each one is and where it fits.
- OMP Circuit Evo 2: full face helmet, ECE 22-06, fluorescent yellow
- Sizes XS (53 to 54cm) to XXL (61cm)
- Sparco K-Pole: mid height kart boot, perforated upper, rubber sole
- K-Pole sizes run from EU 36 to EU 48
- Neither item is FIA approved

The OMP Circuit Evo 2 in fluro yellow
The Circuit Evo 2 is a full face helmet with an ABS shell, approved to the ECE 22-06 road helmet standard. The visor and chin bar are part of the helmet, so eye protection is built in.
The fluorescent yellow is the reason to choose this one. In a kart, a bright helmet is easier for other drivers and marshals to pick out, and it makes your own driver easy to find from the pit wall or in a busy paddock. It also comes in white and matt black.

The Sparco K-Pole kart boots
The K-Pole is a mid height karting boot. The upper is perforated, which helps with ventilation when you are hot in a suit across several sessions, and the rubber sole gives grip and a good feel of the pedals. External laces and an elasticated heel keep the fit secure.
Sizes run from EU 36 to EU 48, so it suits junior drivers as well as adults. Yellow is one of six colours, alongside black, blue, red, orange, and blue and white.

Not FIA approved: what that means
Neither the Circuit Evo 2 nor the K-Pole is FIA homologated, so they are not for licensed events that ask for FIA rated kit. They suit club karting that does not require it, practice sessions, indoor and outdoor leisure karting, and arrive and drive events.
Garreth’s advice is to check your club or series rules before buying any helmet or boots, because requirements change and approvals are date limited. If you move up to racing that needs FIA kit, the boots and helmet will need to change with it. Our round up of affordable karting helmets covers the other options.
Fit and care
Try boots on before race day so you know you have full control of the pedals. After a session, air them out, store them in a bag between events, and clean them with a soft brush and a damp cloth, not harsh chemicals.
For the helmet, measure round your head just above the eyebrows and send us the number if you are between sizes.
