Novec is a clean agent, and that is the whole point
It suppresses fire and then evaporates, leaving effectively no residue. Compare that with a dry powder extinguisher, which puts fires out well and coats everything it touches in a corrosive powder that gets into electronics and is extremely difficult to clean out of a car.
In a competition car full of wiring and instrumentation, that difference is worth the price gap.
What it is approved for
Our data lists it as EN3 homologated and FIA and Motorsport UK approved for national and international rally use. Extinguisher approvals are date limited and technical lists get revised, so if the car is being scrutineered, check the current list for your series before the event rather than assuming.

Is a handheld enough for my car?
It depends on your regulations. Many entry-level disciplines and track day cars only need a securely mounted handheld, while race and stage rally cars typically need a plumbed-in system as well or instead. Check your championship regulations, and ask us if you want a hand deciding between the two.
Is it accepted by scrutineers?
It carries FIA Approved, MSA Approved status. Extinguisher requirements are set per discipline, including capacity and whether a plumbed system is required, so check your regulations for the exact requirement and ask us if you want us to match a system to your series.
Does it need servicing?
Yes. Extinguishers carry a service date and need periodic servicing to the manufacturer schedule, which scrutineers do check, so factor a service into your running costs and note the date on the bottle when it arrives.
