This Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit is the hub that lets you fit an aftermarket wheel to the factory steering column. It is machined for this vehicle specifically, so the splines and the depth are already right. A universal hub will not do the same job.
Machined from aluminium by OMP, drilled for 6x70mm PCD wheels, and supplied with the fixings required to complete the installation.

Which steering wheels fit this boss kit?
This hub is drilled 6x70mm. A 6x70mm pattern covers MOMO, Sparco, OMP, Simoni Racing and the Mountney M-Range.
Browse the steering wheels we stock if you still need the wheel itself. Worth a read if this is your first swap: how aftermarket steering wheels mount.
What a boss kit does
An aftermarket steering wheel will not bolt to a carโs column on its own. The hub sits between the two, matching the column splines on one side and the wheel bolt pattern on the other. It also sets how far the wheel sits from the dash, which affects your reach to the stalks and the clearance to your knees.
This one is a non-collapsible design. A non-collapsible hub is a solid part, which is what most track and competition cars run. On a road car, be aware you are removing the columnโs collapse function, so consider how the car is used.
If the car has a driver airbag, that airbag is lost when the standard wheel comes off. Disconnect the battery and leave the system to discharge before you start, and get the airbag handled properly rather than leaving it hanging off the column. Tell your insurer the car has been modified.
Fitting the Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit
Centre the road wheels before you take the old wheel off and mark the column so the new wheel goes back on straight. The hub bolts to the column first, then the wheel bolts to the hub. Torque the centre nut properly, it is the only thing holding the wheel on.
The hub carries the horn contact through to the wheel. Connect it during the fit rather than after.
Once it is together, check the wheel clears the indicator and wiper stalks through full lock in both directions, and that nothing catches on the way round.
Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit questions
Does the Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit come with fixings?
Yes. The kit is supplied with the screws needed to mount the wheel to the hub. You will reuse the column nut from the standard wheel.
Will the Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit fit any steering wheel?
It takes wheels on a 6x70mm pattern. Check the back of your wheel before ordering if you are not sure which you have.
Do I lose the airbag?
Yes. Removing the standard wheel removes the driver airbag on any car fitted with one. Disconnect the battery first, have the airbag dealt with properly, and let your insurer know the car has been modified.
Will the horn still work?
The horn contact carries through the hub, so it works with a wheel that has a horn push. Wire it up while the wheel is off.
Is this the right hub for my Lada Samara?
It is machined for this application. If your car sits near a model year change or has had a column replaced, send us the registration and we will check it before you order.
Not sure on fitment? Give us the reg and we will confirm the Lada Samara Steering Wheel Boss Kit suits your column before you buy.
