New Special Edition Sparco J-Pro Helmets Now In-Store

Two special edition versions of the Sparco J-Pro have landed in the showroom: one in Martini Racing stripes and one in Gulf colours. Underneath the paint they are the same J-Pro, Sparco's open face helmet for track days, but they are a lot more fun to look at.
Both are approved to ECE 22-06, the road and track day standard, not to an FIA standard. That makes them a helmet for track days and similar events, not for racing that asks for FIA approval, so it is worth being clear about that before choosing one.

Two famous liveries
The Martini Racing edition is white with the light blue, navy and red stripes running over the top and down the back. The Martini colours are best known from Lancia's rally cars and from the Porsche 917 that won Le Mans in 1971.
The Gulf edition is powder blue with an orange band, the colours worn by the Ford GT40 that won Le Mans in 1968 and 1969. It has the Gulf roundel on the side and the J-Pro logo low on the shell.
What the J-Pro is
The J-Pro is an open face helmet with a shell made from Sparco’s Advanced Thermo Material composite. It is approved to ECE 22-06, the current road helmet standard, which replaced 22-05 with tougher testing that includes rotational impacts.
It has no HANS posts, so it is not a helmet to pair with a HANS or FHR device. Sizes run from S at 55 to 56 cm through M, L at 60 cm and XL at 61 cm, to XXL at 62 cm.
Where you can use it
An ECE 22-06 open face helmet suits most track days and some club events in a car, as long as you also have eye protection. It is not suitable for competitions that require an FIA or Snell approved helmet, and karting normally requires a full face helmet.

Are the Sparco Martini Racing and Gulf J-Pro helmets FIA approved?
No. They are approved to ECE 22-06, the road and track day standard.
Can I use the J-Pro with a HANS device?
