The BG4924 is a quick release system for vehicles with a classic Mountney or Moto-Lita hub, where the owner wants to fit a modern steering wheel. The hub side of the BG4924 matches the 6x101mm and 9×101.6mm PCD used by classic Mountney and Moto-Lita boss kits. The steering wheel side accepts any wheel with a 6x70mm or 6x74mm PCD, which covers most modern wheels from Momo, Nardi, Personal, Sparco and OMP.
That combination suits classic British cars and kit cars originally fitted with Mountney hubs, where the owner wants to run a modern competition or aftermarket wheel without replacing the entire hub assembly. The wheel can be removed in a second when leaving the car and refitted just as quickly.
The mechanism uses a push-pin to prevent accidental release. Dimensions are 123mm diameter by 72mm deep. Weight is 680g.
The BG4924 only works in one direction: modern wheel on a classic hub. If you want to fit a Mountney or Moto-Lita steering wheel onto a modern Momo-pattern hub, that requires the BG4911 adaptor instead, which converts the bolt pattern the other way. The two parts can also be used together to give a quick release on a setup with a classic wheel and a classic hub.
Replacing the original steering wheel on a car with airbags disables the driver and passenger airbag systems. A 12-month warranty covers the unit against manufacturing faults.
