Read this before you buy it for a race car

This is an EN3 approved hand held extinguisher for a workshop or a service vehicle. It is not an FIA homologated competition extinguisher and it is not a plumbed in system. If your regulations call for an extinguisher from the FIA technical list, or for a plumbed system, this will not satisfy a scrutineer.

Tell us the series you are running and we will point you at the right thing. We would rather do that than have you turned away at signing on.

Dry powder, and what that means

It puts fires out well and it makes a terrible mess. Powder gets everywhere, it is corrosive to electronics and it is genuinely difficult to clean out of a car interior. In a van, an awning or a workshop that trade off is fine, and this is exactly the right tool for those.

Is a handheld enough for my car?
It depends on your regulations. Many entry-level disciplines and track day cars only need a securely mounted handheld, while race and stage rally cars typically need a plumbed-in system as well or instead. Check your championship regulations, and ask us if you want a hand deciding between the two.

Is it accepted by scrutineers?
It carries MSA Approved status. Extinguisher requirements are set per discipline, including capacity and whether a plumbed system is required, so check your regulations for the exact requirement and ask us if you want us to match a system to your series.

Does it need servicing?
Yes. Extinguishers carry a service date and need periodic servicing to the manufacturer schedule, which scrutineers do check, so factor a service into your running costs and note the date on the bottle when it arrives.

What we hold in the showroom can leave the next working day. The rest arrives on our regular imports from OMP in Italy, normally inside a couple of weeks.
