The OMP First Professional underwear range is built from double-layer soft knit Nomex fabric and carries FIA 8856-2018 homologation across all three pieces. This bundle brings the balaclava (IE0-0770), long-sleeve top (IE0-0771), and long johns (IE0-0772) together, which is the complete three-piece set most regulations ask for when they require FIA-approved base layers.
The Nomex construction uses flat seams throughout, which keeps the fabric from pressing into skin during a long session. Most drivers wearing FIA underwear for a full day notice seam placement before anything else; flat seams reduce that pressure point. The top uses raglan sleeves, which gives slightly more shoulder mobility than a set-in sleeve.
All three pieces are black only. The balaclava comes in XS/S and M. The top and long johns size independently, from XS to XXL, so if your torso runs a different size from your legs, you can mix without issues. Choose the size for each piece from the drop-down at basket.
The First Professional is OMP’s entry-level FIA underwear. For sprint racing and most club events it is well suited. Drivers doing long stints in hot cars may find OMP’s upper range worth considering for its lighter construction, but the First covers the approval at a noticeably lower price. Can I mix sizes across the items?
Yes. Each part of the bundle is picked in its own size when you order, so a large suit with medium gloves and size 44 boots is no problem. If any combination shows as unavailable, ask us and we will sort it.
Is everything in the bundle homologated?
Each item carries its own approval, shown in the specification above, and it is the individual labels a scrutineer checks, exactly as if you had bought the pieces separately. If your championship has specific requirements, tell us which series you run in and we will confirm the whole bundle passes.
Can I swap an item in the package?
Usually, yes. If you want a different colour, model, or spec for one of the pieces, get in touch before ordering and we will quote the bundle with the swap, so you keep the package saving where we can give it.
