The OMP helmet bag, 38 x 29 x 27cm, padded, with a zipped side pocket. Part number OMPOB0-2978.
Why a helmet needs a bag
A helmet shell is tough and the visor and the paint are not. Most helmet damage happens in transit and in the paddock: a helmet on a pit wall gets knocked off, a helmet in a boot gets a spanner dropped on it, and a scratched visor is a real problem at dusk.
The padding here is doing the actual work. The rest is convenience.
The practical bits
Big enough for most helmets plus a spare visor, which is worth having: a second clear or tinted visor lives in the bag and swaps in a minute. Zipped side pocket for gloves and a balaclava, so the small things travel with the helmet rather than getting lost.
Detachable shoulder straps and handles, so you can carry it however suits when your hands are full.
One warning
Do not store a helmet in a hot car in a bag all summer. Heat degrades helmet liners and adhesives over time. The bag protects it from knocks, not from being cooked.
