These professional race boots are engineered to deliver exceptional pedal sensitivity, fluid movement, and reduced fatigue during competitive driving. Available with a lightweight technical fabric upper or a supple kangaroo leather construction, they are designed to offer natural flexibility and precise foot control, even through long and demanding stints.

A fire-resistant, breathable outer shell works in combination with a Nomex inner lining to manage heat and moisture, helping maintain comfort in high-temperature cockpit conditions. Structural reinforcements in key wear areas, along with carbon fibre inserts in the sole, provide stability without unnecessary weight. The pivot-style heel and ultra-thin, high-grip sole support smooth transitions between pedals, allowing confident and consistent inputs throughout each session.

Designed to support precision driving, these boots offer a stable yet flexible platform that helps reduce fatigue while maintaining consistent pedal control. Their lightweight construction, secure fit, and advanced materials make them an excellent choice for drivers seeking reliable performance at every level of competition.

Key Features:

Racing boot size guide

Race boots are cut far closer than a trainer, on a thin sole, so half a size makes a real difference to how the pedals feel. Start with a tape measure rather than the size you take on the high street.

Measure your foot

Two minutes with a sheet of paper gets you closer than any conversion chart.

1Stand on paper against a wallHeel touching the skirting, weight on the foot. Sitting down gives you a shorter reading than standing.
2Mark the longest toeNot always the big toe. Mark the paper, then measure heel to mark in centimetres.
3Do both feetMost people have one foot a few millimetres longer. Work from the bigger one.
4Wear the socks you will drive inNomex socks are thicker than everyday ones and they take up real room in a boot cut this close.

Foot length to size

This is the anchor. Sparco and OMP both publish foot length against their sizes and the two never disagree by more than three millimetres, so a 28.3 cm foot is an EU 43 either way.

EU UK Sparco length OMP length
36 3.5 23.7 cm 23.5 cm
37 4 24.3 cm 24.5 cm
38 5 25.0 cm 25.0 cm
39 5.5 25.7 cm 25.5 cm
40 6.5 26.3 cm 26.0 cm
41 7 27.0 cm 27.0 cm
42 8 27.7 cm 27.5 cm
43 9 28.3 cm 28.1 cm

46 11 30.3 cm 30.2 cm
47 12 31.0 cm 31.0 cm
48 13 31.6 cm 31.5 cm

Alpinestars, Sabelt and MOMO do not publish foot lengths. Use the EU column here to get into the right area, then read your UK size off the cross-brand table below.

The same UK size, five different EU numbers

Sparco, OMP, Sabelt and MOMO all run the same ladder. Alpinestars run their own, with four extra half steps (40.5, 42.5, 43.5 and 45.5) that the others do not have. From UK 7 upwards their EU numbers stop lining up.

UK Sparco OMP Sabelt MOMO Alpinestars

5 38 38 38 38 38

12 47 47 47 47 47
13 48 48 48 48
14 49

A dash means that brand does not make that size, not that it is out of stock. Sparco and OMP go to EU 48, Alpinestars to EU 49 on the Radar V2, Sabelt to EU 48 and MOMO to EU 46 on the boots we carry.

So which number do you order by?The UK size. It is the one we have checked against each brand’s own ladder for every product on the site, and it never varies by more than half a size between them. The EU number printed on the box will not always match across brands for the same UK size, because Alpinestars carry half sizes the others do not. If you have been looking at Alpinestars’ own website, note that their UK column runs half a size above the UK convention every UK retailer uses, ours included.

How a race boot should fit

Snug, not roomy

You want your toes close to the end with no sliding at the heel. A boot with growing room moves on the pedal, and you feel it on a heel and toe downshift long before you feel it walking to the car. If you land exactly between two sizes, take the larger one and let a thicker sock take up the difference.

The sole is meant to be thin

There is no cushioning or arch support in the way a trainer has, because the whole point is feeling the pedal through the sole. A race boot that feels flat and hard standing in the showroom is doing its job. It is not a walking boot and it will not become one.

Wide feet

A knitted upper gives more than a stiff leather one. Alpinestars build the Supertech on a fully knitted upper specifically so it takes the shape of the foot, and that is the one to look at first if a leather boot has pinched you across the ball before. Tell us if width is your problem and we will point you at the right shells.

Buying boots and a suit together?Measure in one session, in your fireproof underwear and socks. It is the same half hour and it stops the two orders disagreeing with each other.
Not sure between two sizes?Send us your foot length in centimetres and the boot you are looking at and we will tell you which to take. Call 0115 989 3488 or email Sales@GSMPerformance.co.uk.

Sparco from sparco-official.com. OMP from the size chart on their Tecnica shoe product page. Alpinestars EU and US from their Supertech product page, UK from the UK retail convention checked against three UK retailers on 1 August 2026. MOMO from Brown & Geeson, their UK distributor. Sabelt from the ladder on the boots we stock. All checked 2 August 2026. If a chart in the box disagrees with this page, the box wins and we would like to know.

Have you written anything about this exact product?
Yes, we have covered this exact product: The OMP One Evo X Set: Suit, One Evo X Boots And One Evo X Gloves, and OMP One Evo FX Race Boots 2026 – The Latest Evolution in Motorsport Footwear. That is first-hand coverage from our own builds and showroom, not brochure copy.

What size should I order?
Sizes are listed in UK and EU scales, from UK 4 | EU 37 up to UK 13 | EU 48. Race boots are cut close for pedal feel, so most drivers take their normal trainer size rather than sizing up. If you are between sizes or usually wear a wide fit, tell us and we will advise before you order.

Are they legal for competition?
These boots are homologated to FIA 8856-2018, the current FIA standard, so the label is there when scrutineers ask for it. Where homologated boots are required, these qualify.

Why is the sole so thin?
Deliberately. A thin, flexible sole is what gives you feel for the pedals, so you brake and heel-and-toe by feedback rather than guesswork. They are driving boots first, and that is also why we suggest keeping them for the car rather than walking the paddock in them all day.

How do I look after them?
Brush dirt off dry, spot-clean with a barely damp cloth, and let them air dry away from heaters. Machine washing breaks down the construction and any fire-resistant treatment. The full routine is in our guide on caring for FIA racewear.

Do I need race boots for a track day?
Not required, but they are one of the best value upgrades for how a car feels to drive, more so than most spend on the car itself. Our track day kit guide covers what is worth having for your first sessions.

OMP splits between showroom stock and imports

What we hold in the showroom can leave the next working day. The rest arrives on our regular imports from OMP in Italy, normally inside a couple of weeks.

Check the exact item

The OMP range is far too broad for a single lead time to be honest about, so tell us the part and the size and we will confirm where it stands.
